Scooby Doo x Wet n Wild Scooby-Doo Where Are You? Eye & Face Palette ($12) is a new, limited edition eyeshadow palette and face palette that launched with the Wet n Wild x Scooby Doo Collection. It contains 16 colorful shades inspired by Scooby and the gang.

I definitely do have a soft spot in my heart for Wet n Wild Collaborations. They’ve done some great ones over the years like the Care Bears Collection, Sponge Bob, Pac-Man, and many, many others.

I’m not nearly the collector I once was though and sometimes I’ll skip out on a collection or two! Like the Alice in Wonderland Collection would typically be something I’d haul in a second but I only ended up purchasing the Wet n Wild Alice In Wonderland Talking Flowers Lipgloss only from that collection! Certain collections grab me based on color alone and as much as I love Scooby Doo I probably would have skipped this if the colors weren’t something I’m interested in. And in this case, that happened. I saw the palette and instantly wanted it. I thought it was a rather nice Halloween themed palette with great shades that seemed cohesive.

So, here we are! I got my hands on it and I actually didn’t like it as much as I thought would. I had FUN with it but the formula is pretty weak sadly. Would I recommend buying it? Sure, if you want something to just have a little fun with and you have the extra cash to spend. Or if you are a hardcore Scooby fan it might be something you really need. Would I recommend buying it for the formula? Naa…! It isn’t Wet n Wild’s best in show as far as eyeshadows go.

Scooby Doo x Wet n Wild Scooby-Doo Where Are You? Eye & Face Palette is exactly that. This has several unsafe eye shades in it and whether you use them on your eyes is entirely up to you but it is for FACE and EYES and it is noted on the back which shades are not safe for eye use. Oddly, some of the shades that were safe for eyes I had staining issues with which was rather ironic! Six of the sixteen shades are labeled not eye safe. Those shades are The Brains, Leader, Haunted, Pawsome, Scoob, and Fashionable. I am guilty of use some of the face shades on my eyes and I didn’t have any issues but I also don’t have sensitive eyes. As I said above some shades do stain and my eye makeup remover was unable to remove the shadow completely but my cleansing balm was so not too bad a stain.

The shades are 0.529 oz each and the palette contains sixteen shades for $12. They come housed in a plastic palette that’s the same aqua shade as the Mystery Machine with a clear lid that features the entire Scooby Gang. It’s a plastic compact but it’s still really cute and the art work is fantastic especially if you’re a Scoob and the Gang fan!

There are six matte shades in the palette and the others are metallic and sparkle shades. The mattes are probably the most pigmented of the shades. They apply ok but they are a bit too harsh if you’re using them as all over shades and there’s a certain patchiness when you blend. I find packing color on and smoothing with your finger tip works. The sparkle shades are softer and looser and kick up a good deal of powder with plenty of fall out. These are the most sheer in the palette and apply nicely but look out for tons of Fall out. Lastly, are the metallic that apply shimmery and very patchy with a good deal of fall out as they’re as loose and powdery as the sparkle shades. I hesitate to call these chalky because they aren’t quite that but almost all the shades apply poorly and require a lot of building, patting, and building some more to look good. A cream eyeshadow under them might help sort this out a little but not much. It’s a shame because the shades really are very pretty but just poorly formulated. I have a few looks I created below using the palette! They’re not amazing but I had fun with the palette regardless of the formula!

Scooby Doo x Wet n Wild Scooby-Doo Where Are You? Eye & Face Palette is sadly not a must have. It might be something you want to snag for a fun quick or maybe you just collect palettes like that but if you don’t have the spare cash to spend you can probably safely skip this one.

Scooby Doo x Wet n Wild Scooby-Doo Where Are You? Eye & Face Palette is a new, limited edition six shade palette that works on both eyes and face. This palette does contain unsafe eye shades and I did experience staining with some of the shades in the palette but had no issues aside from that. However, please proceed with caution and read the back of the palette or see above for the shades that aren’t considered eye safe. I thought the palette was very cute and very affordable. It features some very nice Scooby and the Gang artwork but the eyeshadows are poorly formulated and aren’t Wet n Wild’s best formula. These shades are matte, sparkle, and metallic. The mattes were fairly dense and the most pigmented but applied rather harsh and blended patchy. The metallics and sparkles had a bad, chunky fall out issues and blended patches as well. Pigment is ok on the palette with the mattes being the best shades but all in all, the formula and consistency of these shades is quite dry making them difficult to work with!

Pros

  • Affordable.
  • Cute.
  • Awesome collector’s item.

Cons

  • Poorly formulated shades.
  • Fall out.
  • Drier consistency.
