Wet n Wild Thrift Store Chic Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

The Wet n Wild Thrift Store Chic Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette ($4.99) is one of five, limited edition Wet n Wild Silver Lake Spring 2015 Coloricon Eyeshadow Palettes that recently launched at drugstores.

I have a love hate relationship with Coloricon Eyeshadow Palettes. The first round were amazing and to this day I cherish them but there have been many variations since that time and they can prove hit or miss but none the less I continue hauling them because when you do get a hit, well, it’s a cheap kinda thrill that makes your makeup day!

The Wet n Wild Thrift Store Chic Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette is one of those cheap thrills!

The Wet n Wild Thrift Store Chic Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette is a pretty selection of lovely pinks (with a little cream and even purple thrown in) in a range of both matte, shimmer, and satin shades. Regular than the black compact that’s traditional for the Coloricon Palettes you’ll be getting this in a white one which gives it a little bit of a fresher, Spring appearance. It also includes two applicators for application one of which is a brush and the other an eyeshadow sponge. I always feel like the sponges are too small for use and the brushes shed and really don’t pick up color well so I typically toss them.

One thing you’ll notice that’s new about this particularly palette is the shimmer shades. Both of these shades are a little thinner in consistency with an almost Bobbi Brown-like Sparkle Shadow texture that’s a bit dense but slightly creamy as well. They don’t pick up easily with a brush so I find a sponge eyeshadow applicator best for use. You can pat them gently onto your lid to add a nice but of sparkle and sheerer color to lids. You get two shades like this. There are also two pink mattes which are soft and silky with quite nice pigmented. Both of these are a little powdery but they blend nicely. There’s also a pretty purple satin which has a soft, velvety texture and finally a creamy beige frost that also has excellent pigment and applies nicely. The shimmer shades have a bit of fall out so I find a cream shadow or primer aids in reducing some of that sparkly fall out.

All in all the shades performed quite well. Nice pigmentation, a smooth, even application, and a beautiful finish! They looked intense even with eyeshadow primer under them and they create a very nice look although some shades can blend together easily without any definition since they are so close in color but it’s nothing you can’t work with!

Although there are some fall out issues here I thought the Wet n Wild Thrift Store Chic Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette was beautifully textured! I can see myself reaching for this shade selection quite often to create pretty Spring looks. As I said above Coloricon Eyeshadow Palettes can be hit or miss but I think the Thrift Store Chic Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette rings true for me!

Ooh! So happy to see this was a hit! I wanted this one the most of the new palettes.
I don’t have many pinks, and I feel like this is a good and affordable way to try and incorporate them to my looks.

  • Kiss & Make-up

I don’t often reach for pinks and lavenders, but still, nice palette.

Dayum girl! those mauvey tones in the shadows made your chocolate brown eyes a standout!

So glad to see you swatch this! I’ve picked up then put back this palette at least twice, because while the colors intrigue me (I’ve been on a big pink and mauve shadow kick lately), the glitter in two of the shades gave me pause as they looked kinda cheap. The rest of the palette looks nice enough that I may have to give it a chance, glitter shades be damned.

It’s actually quite nice 🙂 I liked it. I’ve been disappointed lately with the coloricon shadows but this was nice Duchess 🙂

So glad to see your review of these, Muse! I got the California Roll palette because the colors just looked SOOO AWESOME. Haven’t had a chance to really play with it yet, but now I think I’m just going to have to collect more!

    • Isabella Muse

Oh Muse! This palette looks fabulous and of course I love the price! The colors seem perfect for spring. The only tiny teensy thing I don’tlike is the name- who wants to look thrifty afer all, right? 😉 I must pick this up!

  • Nyxie

I LOVE this palette — but can’t find it ANYWHERE!!! Not at Walgreens, Target, Rite Aid or even a mention of it on the Wet N Wild site. What the heck??!?!?

  • Michelle

Oo oo I haven’t seen these in my area either, I need to see swatches/reviews of everything new! I never turn down pink eye shadows! I especially want to mix that purple shade with the last pink shade you swatched and see what kind of mauve I can come up with 🙂 Muse you look GREAT in pink, I love it!

Too many exclamation points… might be due to the jar of fluff I’m snacking on…

    • Isabella Muse

thank you Michelle!!!!!!!! 😀 <3! I think the mauve contrasted with the pink would make a delightful look! lol! 🙂 enjoy it!

  • Diana
