Maybelline Color Tattoo 24H Longwear Multi-Use Eyeshadow Stix is new long wear multi-use shadow, liner, and primer that promises 24 hours of wear. It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything added to the Color Tattoo Collection where as a few years ago Maybelline was busy launching Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows, Color Tattoo Pure Pigment Eyeshadows, Color Tattoo Eye Chrome, and yes, even an eyeshadow crayon like this called Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon! Unlike the original crayons these new Color Tattoo Eye Stix Eyeshadows have a more precise point and act as a liner and an eyeshadow (or a primer if you want!). They also have a bit of a drier formula that allows for better grip and longer-wear.

Let’s check out my review below.

The Maybelline Color Tattoo Longwear Multi-Use Eyeshadow Stix Collection features ten shades and are priced at around $8-$10 each for 0.049 oz. These are available in matte and shimmer finishes and have a hidden sharpener located in the top of the pencil. Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon are no more but those used to be 0.08 oz and $6.99 each. Major difference in price and size with this new ones.

This is a twist up pencil with a thicker precise point. You can apply them all over your lid, you can line with them, or you can use them as a primer for powder. I used them all three ways and I can honestly say I don’t like them. I only tried two shades one of which was a shimmer and the other a matte. The one major benefit of this formula is the fact they are incredibly long-wearing as promised. If you have oily skin/eye lids this formula may be your best friend. It’ll wear very long and very strong without fading nor creasing. It’ll also be a great base for powders and not only intensify the color of your powder eyeshadow but also, allow it to wear strong without fading nor creasing.

So, why didn’t I like them? Sadly, this formula is too dry for me. I heard a few reviews saying they reminded the user of Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eyeshadow and I gasped in outrage. Absolutely not and I wish! This formula isn’t creamy at all and drags a good deal during application. They are also very difficult to blend out due to the lack of creaminess in the formula. Yes, they are a cream shadow but they feel very dry. The lack of creaminess really mad for a difficult application and I felt they set immediately upon hitting my lid which made blending very difficult.

I purchased and tried two shades. I got I Am Confidence which was a matte beige that made a nice base for powders or as a nude shade for a natural look and I Am Fierce which was a shimmery forest green. Both shades had fairly good pigmentation but had to be built up for the best color pay off.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Stix would be AWESOME if the formula were more creamier. I do see why they went drier with this pencil though as a creamier formula would wear shorter and crease more easily. This formula STICKS like glue! It’ll wear long and strong all day. Sadly, that makes for a more difficult experience applying and blending this formula out.

Amazon Ulta

Maybelline Color Tattoo Longwear Multi-Use Eyeshadow Stix are a new Summer 2023 release and available in ten shades for $8-10 each and 0.049 oz in size. These are a 3-in-1 formula that you can apply all over your lid as an eyeshadow, use as a primer with powder eyeshadow, or use as an eyeliner. I found the formula a bit dry which resulted in dragging during application. They also feel like they set immediately which made the blending process a bit harder. They did wear strong and long as promised without fading or creasing but the dryness of the formula prevented me from raving them further!

I’ve seen other reviews from oily peeps who really like them and being oily myself, these seem perfect to me but I am a bit turned off by the size and price

these are super great for oily lids. Personally, I can’t do it. They tug horrible during application. But the wear is incredible which is the toss up for that less than creamy formula. The price is a bit better on Amazon (around $7.79) but still smallish 🙁
