4 stars out of 5

Wet n Wild x Pac-Man Game Over Color Palette is a new, limited edition eyeshadow palette that launching now at drugstores. What a fantastic ode to the legendary game! My gateway drug into the world of gaming started with Pac-Man! I remember taking turns playing it with my dad when I was super young.

Wet n Wild has really been kicking it out of the park with some of these launches lately! I was loving the Game of Thrones nod when they launched the Fire Dragon vs Ice Dragon Collection! I can’t wait to see what else they have coming up especially for Fall 2019 as I always find Fall releases the best releases of all.

I literally just got the Wet n Wild x Pac-Man Game Over Eyeshadow Palette and I typically take a little while longer to test out a product before I post a review but dude, I’ve actually created four looks with it in 24 hours haha. The last one being my favor with the bright oranges and yellows. It’s just a fun palette to play with.

Here’s my review of the new Wet n Wild x Pac-Man Game Over Eyeshadow Palette!

This comes housed in a plastic compact featuring an entire game of Pac-Man printed on the clear lid. The four corner shades have imprints of Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde and the middle one of Pacman. I am squealing over how cute this is and how many good memories it brings back. It is made in China but has no weird plastic smell. It makes no note or warning about using it on eyes but does contain some dyes that are not FDA approved such as Red 40 Lake. Such dyes can cause staining and anyone with sensitive eyes or allergies should avoid using these as you could develop an infection or have an allergic reaction. The good news is none of the shades stained my lids and removed very easily.

The palette contains nine shades all in different sized well with a total weight of 0.36 oz. It’s priced at 7.99. The palette contains bright shades of orange, fuchsia, purple, blue green, and yellow. The palette contains seven matte shades one shimmery satin and one sparkle shade that worked best as an overcoat. I don’t normally like colors like this and they aren’t something I’d calmly use because I’ve become a more natural, neutral kind of girl in my older age. But I had a lot of fun with them and thought they paired up well together. The purple and pink paired up nicely together, the neon orange and yellow, or the yellow and blue, there are any number of fun looks you can create with it! The colors also mimic the game nicely with shades of bright yellow representing Pac-Man, orange representing Clyde, a bright fuchsia to represent Pinky, and Inky’s shade is here to in a soft teal! There’s sadly no red to represent Blinky!

Although most of these shades were matte in finish I thought they were very easy to apply and blend with a silky texture that wasn’t overly powdery. Some did require a bit of building for the best intensity but you can get some very bright, fun looks from them with a good cream base and a little patience. The single shimmery satin shade was the best in performance as it was pigmented, soft and velvety in texture, and quite easy to apply and blend. There’s a single topper shade here in white which had a flakier texture and was best applied with a finger. It isn’t meant to be used on its own in my opinion and works best on top of other shades. I experienced no staining with these shades and they removed very easily.

All in all, a very, very fun palette with a great nod to the 80s that’s well worth picking up when it becomes available!

Have you been lucky enough to find it?

Wet n Wild Ulta

A new, limited edition palette containing nine neon eyeshadows inspired by the Pac-Man arcade game. The palette is Made in China and does contain ingredients that are not approved for use on the eye area by the US FDA which could cause irritation or allergies on sensitive eyes. Staining is a possibility as well but I personally didn’t have an issue and felt the colors removed very easily. This is a fun palette that’s dominated by mattes which have a silky formula that wasn’t overly powdered and applied and blended well. Most of the shades did require building for the best color intensity but they created some very fun looks none the less!

Pros

  • Fun palette for those that like bright shades.
  • Inexpensive.
  • Awesome for pick for makeup collector’s and 80s babies.

Cons

  • Not as pigmented as one would think, required some building!

Cute! I’m on the lookout for this.

Did you see the Tetris x Ipsy Collection? I picked up a few things and it’s okay.

The colors look nice on you. I used to love PAC man and MS. PAC man. I hope Ulta gets it soon. I just got 20% coupon in my mail.

Not a video game fan, but have been intrigued to experiment with more colors yet have been scared to dabble with neon shades like due to them usually having a staining effect after removal. Or else, they apply patchily. Glad to hear these don’t stain and to see from the swatches that they are pretty opaque. Thanks a lot for this review!

thank god no staining 🙂 Colors built very nicely and applied well! I always struggle with mattes sometimes as they apply patchy and dry! But no issues here! My pleasure <3!

Wont buy or support this brand after they have lied and lied about being cruelty free. In this day and age, we do not need to test on animals. It’s sad they went this route as I would have bought this, and I’ve bought the fire and ice and love their highlighters and their nail polishes. Now I use up what I’ve bought and not purchase more, unless they change their ethics.

ANY news on which drugstores will carry ? I don’t need but I want the whole collection! I haven’t seen WnW advertise This collection on their Instagram yet. I wish they would have made it available on their website.

I purchased it at Harmons. I imagine it’ll be available first at WnW and maybe at Ulta not sure where else! Hopefully mass drugstores!
