Beauty on a Budget: Avon Color Trend Lip Duo Lipstick & Lip Gloss Review and Swatches

Avon is keeping it cheap and cute with it’s new Avon Color Trend Lip Duo Lipstick & Lip Gloss. This dual sided lip gadget has a lipstick on end and a gloss on the other, sweet the Muse loves techy beauty finds!

Click ahead to hear my thoughts.

This little guy is available in four separate shades for a mere $3.25 each. These aren’t a big size but they have just enough product for toting around with you for quickie touch ups. The novelty is the dual-end design which lets you smooth on a nourishing lip color and top it with a shiny gloss.

The lipstick side of the product is quite sheer and subtle where as the gloss is decently pigmented. You’d think this would be reversed with the lipstick sporting the richer pigmentation but it does manage to work as the lipstick acts more as a balm and a prep for lips prior to gloss application.

The color I tried Pink Fizz Duo which has a gloss that’s lilac pink is color and a frosty baby pink shade of lipstick.

Neither product is flavored so those who aren’t a fan of scented, flavored lip products will be relieved. The texture of both the gloss and the lipstick is nicely moisturizing for it’s beauty budget price tag.

Overall, Avon Color Trend Lip Duo Lipstick & Lip Gloss is a rather cute, inexpensive beauty find for throwing into your bag for touch ups on the go or if you have a bit of an oral fixation and always find yourself applying and reapplying balms or gloss this should appeal.

Likey!

Available now from Avon.

    Hey Muse,

I tried this today & felt like it had that weird waxy scent & flavor to it. =P Did I get a bum lip duo? I wanted to wipe it off almost as soon as I put it on, but thought I’d give it a chance. I’m returning it, unless my rep says I got a bum version…Cool beans that you like it & it works for you. I’ll stick to the mark lip gloss & the glazewear lipgloss. Can’t complain much though since it’s a good deal.

      hey dell!

It wasn’t really impressive but I kinda liked the techy side of it. The lipstick itself wasn’t bad I didn’t get a waxy glide from it…can’t recall the flavor at the moment :-D I like the mark stuff as well way better! I wish mark would do their glosses full size as they are super good. That’s how I feel. Avon is always such a great deal that I barely blink anymore if I get a dud :-D

Have you tried anything from the Fall stuff yet? I’m testing it now so far so good.

ps I kinda just flip this in my purse for quickie touchups not really anything more I can do with it :-D I like more dramatic lips so this is only good for on the fly touch ups!

It def comes in handy to have both together instead of fumbling tryin to find 2 separate products, if only the gloss wasn’t funky to me. =P my mark gloss keeps leaking, but I’m not sure if it’s because I’m using the connector with it. My makeup bag is not happy, but I am happy enough with the gloss to deal with it.

Haven’t tried the Fall stuff yet, but they have new colors for their Glazewear Lip Gloss that I have samples for. Avon deals are so addicting & sadly enough I haven’t tried all the products I have ordered, but don’t tell my hubz…hehe

hey del! that’s why I liked it :-D mine does too I think it’s a fault with the packaging somehow :P I try not to tote it around b/c of this.

I was hating on Avon for a really long time and recently rediscovered it and was surprised how great the quality is as of late :-D hehe well tell your hubby it’s at least cheap and not as bad as making a trip to Sephora right?! :-D

I had my rep smell my duo & she thinks it smells like plastic…I told her it tastes like the smell & she was kinda grossed out. hahah…I can’t resist the bargains Avon has – just hauled more stuff that I gotta try out. hopefully sooner than later as the stash is growing. Luckily my rep has been indulging in a lot more makeup samples, so I’ll be having fun with that too! Not everything is great quality, but you can always return the stuff you don’t want or just eat the low cost.
