Sneak Peek: Korres Natural Beauty Necessities Review and Swatches
Just between us, I’ve been the queen of cheap lately. I’m not sure what brought on my sudden cheapieness but I’m thinking it’s a few things. At first I thought it might be the economy, after that it was the recession. Finally I’ve decided that cheaphood comes from 1. having way too much makeup and 2. just wanting to simplify things and keep it simple.
You like simple, natural, cheap makeup? Oh you do, do you. Me too.
That’s why I’m all about the brand new Korres Natural Beauty Necessities.
Score! Deal!
Check it after the jump.
This is a brand new kit from Korres and includes $104 worth of makeup for merely $39.50. See? Told you it’s cheaps!
The kit comes housed in the typical Korres zip lock baggie. They do alot of kits like this and slap ’em in an uber chic zip lock baggie. Only Korres can make a simple zip lock bag look awesome in my humble opinion.
The Muse being the Muse, she proceeded to tear hers open with her teeth when she got it. What? A girl can get excited about six pieces of makeup sealed in a bag….it happens.
Alot of the items included in this kit I hadn’t yet tried from Korres so it’s pretty much an ideal reason to indulge if you haven’t checked out any of the color cosmetics from the brand before or if you’re just obsessed with makeup and like to get a bang for your buck.
The set includes all the necessities (hence the name) for making up a very natural, fresh face. Inside you’ll find:
- Korres Blush 16 (Pink)
- Korres Cherry Full Color Lip Gloss in 23 (Light Purple/Pink) and 33 (Nude Peach)
- Korres Eyeliner Pencil in 1 (Deep Black) and 2 (Rich Dark Brown)
- Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing Mascara
This kit was an ideal one to test out as I hadn’t tried Korres Blush, Eyeliner, or this mascara as of yet so it was pretty much all new stuff for me.
The most exciting part was the Korres Blush as I’ve been wanting to try this for a while. The shade is a cool bright pink that gives cheeks a delicate, shy touch of pink. Very natural and pretty. The formula blends easily and it’s nicely pigmented as well. It comes in a simple white compact with a full size mirror, quite sturdy for tossing in your tote or bag.
I’ve already tried Korres Cherry Full On Color Lip Gloss before so this wasn’t new for me but it’s still quite nice to add two new shades to my a stash at such an incredible deal. 23 is a nice light purple pink shade where as 33 is a nude peach. Out of the two I loved 33 the best as it was nice and warm for Fall. 23 is equally nice but it’s a bit frosty on my lips so I tamed it with a bit of stain on my lips under it. The formula is heavily pigmented so these are easy to use on their own minus lipstick or stain beneath.
Most surprisingly product out of the bunch? The Korres Eyeliners, Whoa. These are incredible. Quite a dreamy, creamy, formula. They glide onto your lid and waterline leaving quite a pigmented line. No reason to go back and reline as they are skip and smudge free. The formula is incredible and on par with MAC Technkohl, even better might I add. This could be new HG (holy grail) material for me.
And finally Korres Abyssinia Oil Volumizing Mascara which I was a bit worried about. Since it’s not particularly special aside from an overly large brush applicator I was wondering how well it would work. Turns out it’s quite good. It manages to give lashes a softer finish which I’m not always fond of but the soft finish is complimented by dramatic length and volume which makes it a great mascara find.
Now not only are you getting the benefits of a great kit, a good deal, and plenty of variety but you also get more natural, “good for you” make up for your face as Korres products are formulated minus parabens, dyes, fragrances, etc….
If you happen to be a natural girl and like your makeup flawless, pretty, and simple this kit should appeal. The completed look using the mascara, liner, blush, and gloss is a simple look that’s flattering for days you are wanting to look good but not dramatic. It’s also a great way for creating a soft look minus the drama of using a slew of cosmetics to achieve it.
Overall, the kit is an absolutely steal and Muse Approved for purchase. The variety of shades and products makes it’s worthy of a pick up and the price should keep your wallet happy too. This isn’t available yet but will be shortly from Korres.
