Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to mattify your skin. Indeed, you don’t want your friend using your shiny forehead to apply lipstick do you? Around this time of the year the Muse drops to her knees in thanks as her oily forehead begins to dry up thanks to the cooler weather.
But fact of the matter is, it’s been a rather hot few days and I’m back to my ever oily forehead. So not cool.
Been testing out The Body Shop Matte It Skin Primer this week to see if it can combat the shine.
Jump ahead for a peep!
The Body Shop Matte It Skin Primer is a mattifying gel primer meant to absorb excess oil and leave behind a silky, shine-free finish. It’s a silicone based gel that’s oil free and supposedly non-clogging for those with large pores.
I was quite delighted at the formula as I shudder when I think of silicones. They somehow match me itchy or pill off my face, Smashbox Primer you’re so guilty of this. The formula is a cooling gel that doesn’t feel heavy nor does it have the typical powdery finish of a silicon primer. It’s very comfortable on my skin, allows it to breath, doesn’t pill or make me itchy, and absorbs easily.
It didn’t do too much for my oily forehead aside sadly. I didn’t notice too much of a difference and sadly after a few hours of wear I was back to being shiny again. I did like how it kept my foundation fresh. If I use other foundation instead of a BB Cream it normally oxidizes fairly quickly but this manages to keep my foundation fresh for a little longer. It also eased the blending of my foundation. Technically it worked best as a moisturizing primer for me but not so much to make my skin matte.
It’s a mere $14 so it’s quite inexpensive and could be worthy of a look at during your next trip to The Body Shop. I liked it but didn’t love it.
Anyone try yet?
