Beauty on a Budget: EOS Lip Balm Review

Let me bring you back a little bit, Fall 2007 to be exact. Lancome releases the Mystery Game and the Muse proceeds to flip out and find a new love of her life, the Lancome Baume Baiser. Since that time I’ve been through three of these thanks to the Lancome Outlet in Atlantic City having them handy…..currently I’m on my last one and probably won’t get another unless I really look hard as the shop no longer has them.

Flash forward to present day and find the Muse slicking her lips with inexpensive, tasty EOS Lip Balm. Hello dupe-tastic! These smooth spheres are tasty, cheap as day old chips, and mimic that of my beloved Lancome Baume Baiser.

Thank Jebus for answering my prays.

All hail and rejoice ultra cool lip balm that’s inexpensive and readily available without the dreaded LE (Limited Edition) curse attached to it…oh and organic and good for you too.

EOS Lip Balm 6

Jump ahead for the review!

EOS Lip Balms are available in three great flavors and are a 100% natural lip balm that have no petrolatum and no parabens. These vitamin enriched balms offer long lasting moisture with a shea butter formula and a cool design. I absolutely adore the sphere like design as it just works a treat at smoothing product onto lips easily.

See? Looks like the Lancome one doesn’t it?

EOS Lip Balm 4

EOS Lip Balm 5

The balms are available in three tasty flavors which are Honeysuckle Honeydew, Summer Fruit, and Sweet Mint. You can get them at Walgreens for 2 for $6 bucks so they are incredibly easy on your wallet. If you’re a lover of lip balms and nifty little designs these should appeal.

EOS Lip Balm 1

I keep these tucked away in my draw at work, by my nightstand, and in my purse for quickie touch ups as I have a bit of an oral fixation and I’m constantly slicking something onto my lips. Might as well get my cheap on while doing it.

Great beauty on a budget price!

Anyone try?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. • Valerie

I’ve heard about these before but I hadn’t realized they were in any stores. I’m definitely hitting up Walgreens tomorrow. Since I don’t really wear any lip color I’m all about the lip balms. 😀

    • the Muse

yup! I seen at walgreenson an end cap 😀 They are tasty and the design kinda gets me, think you’ll like ’em Valerie 😀

  • BB Snob

Love these! I got all three when I first read about them. The shaving cream is full of awsomeness too!

    • the Muse

aren’t they great BB? I haven’t tried it yet…it’s next on my wishy list!

What fruits does Summer Fruits smell/taste like? Is Honeysuckle Honeydew more strongly resemble the former or latter? I’m always wary of how fruit and floral scents can translate into lip products, so I stick with mint — BORING! 🙂

    • the Muse

hi Nadine. Mmm the summer fruity one is just a touch of fruitiness kinda a blend of fruits. It’s more Honeydew than Honkeysuckle 😀 Honestly the taste is very subtle 😀 not overkill at all!

    Hey Musey!
I signed up to get a free one of these months ago. (The company gave away like 5,000 of them back in July.) Yesterday it finally arrived in the mail- eeee! I still haven’t found any at my local drugstores; time to broaden the search!
Mine’s sweet mint but I want more (and some for gifties).

    • the Muse

awesome Laura…wish I knew about that 😀 I seen ’em at Walgreens so far 😀 They are ideal for little stocking stuffers since they are so cheaps 😀

they have stick ones too did you see?

  • andrea

i’d been wanting the baume baiser, but wasn’t willing to spend ~30 on a goddamn lip balm. first thing i thought when i saw eos.

the 3-pack gifts went on sale after the holidays, so we stocked up. they’re so tasty. we run out fast.

  • Haley

I mainly bought mine for the packaging and figured I would just dump it off after about a month like all of my other chapsticks, but the lovable little pod is my best buddy because it keeps lips buttery smooth for long periods of time and has a great scent/flavor!

    • the Muse

hey haley 😀 totally sold on the packaging and absolutely adore the formula too 😀

  • dina

ok so i just finished the mint this morning in the stick/regular twist up and it is fantastic. i have finished the spheres in the honeydew & fruit and they were pretty good but i felt like i had to reapply alot. but the mint stick ROCKS 🙂 not sticky, minty, great formula ~ must haul booty to get more!!

  • Jess

I enjoy your product reviews, hehe. 😛 I bought the Summer Fruit one at Walgreens a few months back and I didn’t like it at first. mine was kinda hard and dried out, butttt I decided one day to just use my nail (sounds gross but it saved my balm LOL) to dig into the top layer and underneath all that hardness was buttery softness of a sweet-smelling lip balm! I’ve been in love since. This is the balm I apply before bed every night and because of it’s shape, I just apply it all at one time to both top and bottom lol. It actually stays on my lips and makes them feel moisturized. I would definitely repurchase if necessary. I just wish I could find the Sweet Mint one! They don’t sell that on at my Walgreens. Oh well. 😛

theres a new flavor called medicated mandarin… i just got it in the mail yesterday…. pretty good

  • Kayla

I’m really loving your site! I know this thread is kinda old but there’s lemon w SPF now too. These really are fantastic and I love the shape as well as the size. It makes them hard to lose. They’re great for winter coat pockets and even easy to apply while wearing gloves. Overall I’m very impressed with EOS product line ESPECIALLY the prices. <3

    • the Muse

aw thanks kayla cheers 🙂 Ah yeah, I know about the lemon…did you see the new berry one as well introduced in the trio at Target/walgreens ? 😀

  • Tricia

I just recently bought one. Its something uncommon in our country. I had it shipped. I bought the summer fruit. My mom doesn’t like the smell of it. It smells pretty strong for me. I’d like to ask if it really has a strong fruity smell. =I

  • anne

There are also lemon ones. I got one yesterday!
    It’s yummy….I wish it was edible..haha!

  • paige
