You know the Muse, she’s such a picky little thing when it comes to drugstore buys. But I must say I’m feeling the love for L’Oreal HIP Color Chrome Eyeliner when I got a few to test out this week.
It’s a rather great little find that’s a good value with a solid supporting formula to back it up plus it’s available in some rather festive shades if you want to spice up your holiday look with a splash of metallic liner.
These guys are currently available in four shades and are $8.99-$10 per liner depending on where you shop it. I’m taking into consideration that many drugstores have sales week to week that feature buy 1, get 1 50% Off or buy 1, get 1 free that makes these even more of a super value if you score them during a sale.
The liners have a metallic finish with a rich, creamy formula that glides onto eyes nicely minus skips or tugs for a smooth application and have a healthy pigmentation for good color pay off.
Shades available are Silver Lightening (Silver), Black Shock (Black), Violet Volt (Royal Purple), and Gold Charge (Gold). Silver Lightening and Black Shock are ideal for a smoky eye and Gold Charge is currently my favorite of the bunch. Silver, Black, and Gold will pair up nicely with sparkling shades of eye shadow for a shimmering Holiday look if you’re so inclined.
If you’re not wanting to dish it for an expensive liner I definitely recommend checking these out. The formula is excellent, the full size at under $10 in most cases is a great deal, and the interesting shades make for a great little beauty on a budget purchase. Best part about them? They have an incredibly vivid foiled finish as if you applied them wet, gorgeous!

I want Violet Volt and Silver Lightning!
I really liked the one hip pigment eye shadow I tried, Restless. It’s a yellowish shade with pink reflect.

you and purple go hand and hand! haven’t tried that shade….I like the new metallic range but not the older shadow range…always felt they blended not so great. I’m trying the mattes right now but you know me and matte!
Hey Muse, how do these compare to UD 24/7 liners? i’d love it of you could do a swatch “rub” test, to see how they stand to some wear

I bought one on vacation, wore it all day and out dancing, and it lasted like iron even when I was a sweaty wreck!

hey marilyn better color payoff from these…colors seem more vibrant to my eyes but that could be b/c of the metallic finish. They wear well too. I’m surprised as normally I’m not too impressed by DS brands!
Wow! I did not expect such a gorgeous finish from those pencils- I think Walgreens has BOGO50% on HIP right now, I may have to go grab the gold and the purple.

oh, I’ve seen swatched only the black, gold and silver before. And they seem to be long-lasting too! No smudging either! yEY!
Anyway, I like the purple! Too bad there aren’t more colors…I would have like a pink and blue too….

Oooh! What lovely colours!! I wish we had the Lóreal HIP things here! I’d love to try more of them! They don’t sell them here in the Netherlands unfortunately

Ooh goodie! You make me want ‘em all! I’ll wait until the next BOGO event and haul all of them home. They look like expensive liners with non-expensive price. And the best part is I can always find coupons to offset the cost
exactly dao! so worthy if you get BOGO offer. 10 bucks is kinda meh but I’d pay $8. They have good pigmentation and work very well
plus hells coupons are everywheres 
I looove Silver Lightning! It’s the only one I have, and it’s just pure love. It applies like liquid metal, almost like a liquid liner (it’s that smooth), and dries to a budge-free finish on me. I use this shade all the time as an inner eye highlight. Completely eye-brightening, and I love this even more than my UD 24/7 liners.
Christine same experience I was actually liking how much more vibrant these were when compared to my UD liners
And it really does have a liquid metal effect almost a foil….very very pretty

I have a confession to make. I saw these eyeliners at Target a few days ago, thinking that they looked like the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners, but I wasn’t sure about the quality. Then I saw your post last night, and I KNEW I HAD TO HAVE THEM. I looked up the Walgreens ad, discovered they were having a buy-one-get-2nd-half-off sale on L’Oreal makeup, so I IMMEDIATELY walked across the street to Walgreens and bought all FOUR eyeliners, lol. All in the span of 15 minutes.
They really are fantastic!
awesome dangster! Don’t feel bad b/c I got them in the mail and I thought oh I’ll swatch and tell people about them but I didn’t expect to like them. I haven’t had fab experiences with drugstore makeup so I am ALWAYS pleasantly surprised when something turns out awesome. The quality really is awesome. They look beautiful on the eye, so foiled and wet looking. I’m SO glad you scored ‘em at bogo! Enjoy hun!
These are awesome! I bought violet volt and green flash a little while ago. I wear the green one almost on a daily basis. I love how they just glide on and last all day!
