Mally Beauty Perfect Prep Eye Primer Review
A while back ago when I first started blogging I moaned and whined alot about my under eye area. The deal at the time was I had just turned 30 and suddenly I woke up and had all this insanity going on under my eyes. My sister claims it’s some sort of law that once you hit 30 it all goes down hill. Indeed, my eyes were heading that way fast.
A reader recommended that I try prepping with Clarins Instant Smooth which I did and didn’t really notice much difference. The general idea was it would prep my eye and create a smooth canvas for concealer.
This idea is pretty much what Mally Beauty Perfect Prep Eye Primer is all about.
Check out the review for it below!
So this is the deal peeps, Mally Beauty Perfect Prep Eye Primer is kinda sorta very similar to what you’d get with any silicon primer out there. Only difference is this is for your eyes not your face.
I didn’t see the presentation on this but it claims to extend your eye makeup’s wear…personally I wouldn’t suggest using it above your eyes just under as it has a strange silicon feeling that’s almost greasy in texture which could cause creasing, fading, etc….
Now under your eyes that’s an entirely different playing field.
This offers a very light moisturizing finish that fills fine lines and extends concealer wear for me. It creates a perfect canvas for concealer and gives the illusion of a well rested Muse. I didn’t love the texture as even though it advertises a non-greasy feel I felt it was quite greasy feeling. The best way to apply is after eye cream and let it settle for a bit. Go do your hair or something else and just give it a minute to sink it and set prior to following up with concealer. You’ll get the best results if you do this.
The formula is considerably lighter when compared to Clarins Instant Smooth. If you’ve been using Clarins Instant Smooth for under eye purposes you’ll absolutely adore this as it’s meant for that specific area and the formula isn’t as heavy feeling but rather light.
Now it doesn’t perform miracles in my humblest so I’d recommend it for fine lines not deep set OMG! wrinkles under your eyes. Smaller fine lines could benefit from it as a prep as it offers a tad bit moisture plus a good, solid base for concealer. It actually comes with a brush for application which makes it a snap to apply.
At $35 with the brush it’s decently priced in my opinion however I really doubt I’ll purchase again because I just don’t dig silicon anything. Even though I loved the results I can’t get over that strange slightly greasy, weird cream to powder formula that’s associated with silicon primers. Yak, no likey.
Overall, I’d probably recommend it for those who have fine lines or who are right now using Clarins Instant Smooth under their eyes. It definitely does a rather great job of smoothing out problem areas under your eyes and creating a smooth, even finish for concealer.
It’s available for purchase on QVC, Item Number A92481.
