WANTS IT: Benefit Stay Don’t Stray Eye Primer

by the Muse on December 16, 2009

in Benefit, Wish List

I happen to have a thing for many of Benefit’s base products.  Some are essentials in my makeup regime and I couldn’t live without them so please if you get shipwrecked on a tropical island try not to forget to pack your Benefit Lemon Aid or Benefit Hello Flawless!

But of course when I seen the new Benefit Stay Don’t Stray Eye Primer I got pretty darn excited.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray

Jump!

This is an interesting one friends as not only does it prep and prime eyes for shadows but it also works around the entire eye area making it not only a primer for shadows but a primer for your concealer as well!

Multitask Benefit Stray Don’t Stay by prepping eyes with it for your shadow for long wear or prep your under eyes with it so your concealer never creases and stays fresh all day.

Likey. I want some please, now, thanks.

What do you think?

Will you indulge in Benefit Stay Don’t Stray?

Knowing Benefit’s track record with great performing base products I’m going to say this one could turn into a big yay for me. We shall see, curious minds.

Available soonish from Benefit and Sephora.

I guess this is what’s replacing f.y. eye? Mmm… I’m not sold. You could use any eye primer anywhere to make whatever you’re putting there last longer. But if you get it, do let us know what you think!

hey patty!

FYE was more of a concealer wasn’t it? Under the eye concealer? This is a primer :) Def will be snagging some as I’m a believer in many of benefit’s base products but I’m worried it’ll be silicon-y that may be a deal breaker for me but we shall see, curious how well it’ll perform.

Have you tried it, yet? I’ll be curious to see how it does.

I’ve already tried UDPP, Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer, MAC Painterly Paint Pot and now Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy. I’m interested to try TFSI as well, but don’t want to buy another full-sized eye primer.

not yet anastasia but hope to snag some soon it’s not in stock yet grrrrr! :-D I just hope it’s not heavy silicon as I tried the Mally one and I didn’t like the feel of it. It was nice in some aspects but after use I felt like it was making my eyes greasy as hell!

What’s your fab so far? I love UDPP, it’s my staple. I haven’t tried smashbox or fyrinnae’s but I am slowly liking mac pp’s and ss’s for a good base :-D

I saw this on Sephora the other day and signed up to get notice when it’s available. I keep trying new primers but so far my favorite is still Mary Kay’s eye primer.

Kristina haven’t tried mary kay yet but I’m a UDPP girl for sures :-D

Tammy December 16, 2009 at 8:49 pm

I love the Mary Kay one too! UDPP creases on me if I put on too much, and there’s a fine line between just enough and too much with that stuff. Mary Kay has never creased on me.

I’m definitely trying Benefit’s when it comes out. It’s one of my fave brands!

I guess I gotta try! :-D

I definitely want this! I never got around to try F.Y…eye and I’m not going to miss benefit’s new primer. And as I’ve started getting dark circles recently and my concealer tends to move around a bit: double-yay!

the Muse December 16, 2009 at 10:43 am

hey cucumpear me either. I always thought it was a pot concealer, had to google it up and see it’s a prep and prime…now I’m curious to see if I can still find some ;-D but def want this more!

So far… well. The MAC Paint Pot makes my favourite eyeshadow base because it’s stickier and covers my veins etc, but Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy is something else entirely. I eluded on Twitter to a new ‘holy grail’ item – that’s it. Clear, liquid, dirt cheap and ohmygod. It’s like glue for sparkly shades, supposed to be used over primer, so I’ll use it over my paint pot, and it’s amazing. The difference it makes to sparkly shades is unbelievable. I’ll blog about it later today with comparative swatches etc.

anastasia love your “in england we can it petrol” that freaking EOTD rocks it! I wish you’d burn a feed though as I’m a mess so it’s always easier reading from my reader :-D

I thought I had one! I never use the google reader/follow thing, I just bookmark places. I’m oldschool. All you kids with your podcasts and your iPhones and your kindles…

I’ll redo that EOTD (have I mentioned, easiest EOTD ever?) now that I have the Fyrinnae epoxy. Because wow. Well, wait ’til you see the swatches of it on the other primers vs epoxy! *Reminds self to go get those off her camera and do blogging instead of watching Buffy* right <_<

LOL Anastasia :-D you actually do have the feed burnt I dunno HOW I missed that. can’t wait to see the epoxy…you have me incredibly curious at the moment. NYX has these new bases as well which I’ve been meaning to get my hands on but epoxy has my eye now.

Buffy=more important. :)

Oh maaan. I want it sooo bad! I wanted to get it with my $15 GC from Sephora but I couldn’t order it online or it would cost me a fortune. They don’t have it in stores either so… -sigh- Maybe in 6 months :(

the Muse December 17, 2009 at 10:23 am

awww ashley I hear, from the Benefit fairy, it will be available as quickly as next week from Sephora :-D

I used to work for Benefit and never liked F.Y. Eye. It was kinda thick and very beige so it was hard to work with. I’m still a fan of the brand in general though so I’m curious about this one. Let us know!

ooo lacey! cool! :-D working for benefit must have been fun :-D I surely will let you know!

Hi, Muse! Again I thought to myself ‘how can she love lemon aid that much?!’
I have it and maybe I’m doing something wrong. Do you wear it as an eyeshadow primer or as concealer primer?
I wonder if there is there any trick because it gets uneven some minutes after I apply it. :(

Reply

the Muse December 17, 2009 at 9:49 am

hey renata how are you dear

all over my lid and eye area (not under) as a primer :-D wakes me up! uneven really? I normally start with it and blend it in and follow up with UDPP. that’s about it :-D are you patting it on? I find patting doesn’t work, I do have to rub a little bit.

Caroline December 17, 2009 at 9:02 am

No, F.Y. Eye wasn’t a concealer, it was an eye shadow primer just like this. Guess this is replacing it.

the Muse December 17, 2009 at 9:42 am

caroline I dunno how I missed that :-D thanks!

Laura December 17, 2009 at 2:30 pm

Hmmmm for eyeshadowprimer I adore smashbox’s
New one. It’s a light cream that turns to powder!
I love it. It conceals too. I have tried UDPP and it
Is too wet for me. It creases before I ever get my shadow
On. :(

Reply

the Muse December 17, 2009 at 2:32 pm

hmm laura that sounds good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UDPP I wait for a second or two and it dries down :-D I only use a drop or two :)

Renata December 18, 2009 at 5:28 am

Hi, Muse!
This may sound weird, but I don’t wear eyeshadow. But I like the effect lemon aid gives to my eyes when I apply it under my eyebrows. It’s a very subtle highlighter, not shiny or glittery, you know, but it works. Maybe the problem is I only put some translucent powder on it, it may not be enough to settle – wich is weird.. it should be!
I tried patting, rubbing, brushes, fingers… But I’ll rescue it from the bottom of my drawer and try again. :)

the Muse December 22, 2009 at 3:32 pm

renata weird hun! I LOVE it. It really wakes my eyes up. I normally blend all over my eyes to concealer redness, dullness, etc…try again! let me know the results? :)
