Now jump for my review on the new Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic Palette.

The Muse likes to think Benefit was thinking of her when they created the new Confessions of a Concealaholic Palette.

Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic 2 Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic Review

What is it?

It’s a palette filled with concealers, eye brighteners, brushes, and just about everything else to look your best. Wake up tired eyes, conceal lids and look your best by using this great little kit.

So here’s the deal.

You know how the Muse goes on and on about the joys of Benefit Lemon Aid and Benefit Boi-ing and…and…and….I admit I go on about some of Benefit’s base products don’t I? But I love them so much I can’t help but spread the joy!

You know what the best part of raving about these products is? The best part is when I get comments or emails to thank me. It totally tickles me when someone shoots an e-mail off to say, “Wow Muse, thanks! I tried Benefit Lemon Aid today and you’re right, it’s incredible.” I swear those are the best times ever. I love hearing how someone enjoyed the product as I much as I did.

Anyway.

What’s this new palette all about?

Well dudes…listen up…

It’s everything great about Benefit housed in a cute little book style (diary actually) palette with a mirror. Inside you’ll find Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in two shades, Benefit Lemon Aid, Benefit Eye Bright, Benefit Erase Paste, and Benefit That Gal.

Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic 12 Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic Review

The idea of getting Lemon Aid plus Boi-ing in the same palette is thrilling as I can recommend you purchase this so you can try all the great items I love from Benefit. All the most popular products that I rave on and on about are right here at your finger tips. Now you don’t have to indulge in separate products because you can get them all.

Sweet right?

Benefit Lemon Aid is a yellow base cream that’s ideal for concealing upper lids. It wakes up tired eyes and creates a nice base for shadows.

Benefit Boi-ing was my HG (holy grail) concealer for years! This is creamy, blends easily, and covers like a dream.

Benefit Eye Bright is a pink cream formula that brightens up your eyes in a flash!

Benefit Erase Paste is when you need to bring the big guns out. This is a super creamy, super pigmented concealer.

And finally Benefit That Gal is a face primer for waking up tired skin.

Oh and by the very way it comes with two dual sided brushes but that’s not the cool part. Get this, the brushes are labeled. God it’s the little things in life that make me happy. Each side of the brush is labeled so you never have to worry about dipping in lemon aid with your boi-ing covered brush. W00t!

Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic 5 Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic Review

The palette also includes a step by step instruction book for how to use each product with diagrams showing the best places to use the products for the best results.

Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic 8 Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic Review

On a side note Benefit Erase Paste and Benefit That Gal aren’t my all around fav products. Sadly, Benefit Erase Paste is a little too much for my older eyes and Benefit That Gal doesn’t work so well on me but aside from that everything else is golden.

Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic 6 Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic Review

Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic 11 Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic Review

Honestly, I LOVE having it all in one place as I will make use of every single product included.

Overall, if you never tried Benefit products before or have been lemming a way to test them all out without dishing alot of buck out, I’d say Confessions of a Concealaholic is the ideal choice. This is $38 and includes EVERYTHING you need to conceal. Absolutely a fantastic palette and a must have in my opinion.

Loves it!

Muse Approval for purchase!

Available from Benefit in February.

laurie you did it?! YES! me too! Last night as soon as I got home! after talking to you I decided i NEEDED it :-D

Reply

Laurie January 29, 2010 at 12:39 pm

Yep, I did:) And I’m not feeling the guilt – I am pretty excited! Hope it ships soon – I’m thinking it will be earlier than the estimated Mar. 1 arrival.

Reply

the Muse January 29, 2010 at 12:41 pm

WHOA MARCH!? I didn’t hear that! I’m an instant gratification type a girl. I might need moral support while I wait. Let’s get some real chocolate and hold hands while we wait for the UPS man!

heck I feel so much better paying a mortgage of $33 a month rather than shelling out the entire amount in one go :-D No guilt in mortgaging the makeup!

Reply

Laurie January 29, 2010 at 12:47 pm

I think the ship date is supposedly Feb. 19 – but I have a (wishful) feeling it will be sooner. I’m not cool with the wait either, but the mortgaging of the makeup is a good perk:) Plus – it makes me almost forget I’m paying S+H, which I hate to do normally.

Reply

the Muse January 29, 2010 at 1:15 pm

laurie I love QVC but I think the shipping stinks particularly when I order from the same brand. I can understand that they prob have items that ship from separate places and warehouses but if I order 5 things from Philosophy or whoever and proceed to have to pay shipping on each it really kills me. And that discount of a dollar or two never really makes me happy! anyway totally off rant on you there but yea hate paying S&H!

I sure do hope so but if not it’ll be a nice little v-day gift around feb 19 :D

Mandy January 29, 2010 at 12:49 pm

That sounds like a great palette :] I’d totally consider getting it when it releases! is the erase paste only for the eyes? Because I remember when I saw it at sephora, all the shades were a bit on the peachy – salmony side.

Reply

the Muse January 29, 2010 at 1:14 pm

mandy you are right def a little salmony. erase paste is known as multitasking for sure. They say use on the sides of the face and blend out so you can pretty much use anywhere to cover anything you want :)

Reply

Lisa Kate January 29, 2010 at 12:51 pm

This is totally awesome!! I want!! Especially those brushes!

I need to check Sephora and see if the colors will be too dark for me though. *sigh* I’m all angsty cause concealer is normally way too tan for my skin.

Reply

the Muse January 29, 2010 at 1:13 pm

hey lisa you can combine the two boi-ings as it’s a dark and a light so that will work but not sure if num 2 erase paste will be good…..you’ll have to def check at sephora for a little swatchie and a play :)

Reply

Jennifer January 30, 2010 at 7:41 pm

Hi there. I have Erase Paste in #2 that I got when I had a tan. Now, without a tan I cannot imagine using anything lighter than #2 because it is brightening. I think I would look ghostly with #1 and I am fair. I tested #1 at Sephora and it is really light. It looks dark, but once you put it on and smooth you see brightening (no glistening). That is just my experience. I think Nicole Kidman would do fine with #1, but skin like say, Carrie Underwood (the kind of fair I am) is great with #2. I hope that helps:)

hey gemma :-D it’s ideal for getting everything at a great price. I have but sadly that gal does nada for me. I think it’s best suited to really pale skin chicas :) I have a review around here some place. That’s not TOO bad as SugarBomb was a Jan release so that isn’t too bad :-D maybe you’ll get in March!? :-D

aw thanks hun! hugs!

I cannot wait for this kit to come out! It has every product I’ve wanted to try from Benefit for a long time now all wrapped up into one! I LOVE the fact it comes with two shades of Boi-ing so I can use it all-year round. Do you find the Lemond Aid prevents creasing?

Reply

the Muse January 29, 2010 at 1:43 pm

it’s perfect Jessica! Just perfect especially if you never tried all these items! ;-D the two shades are also great for mixing and matching to create the perfect shade!

Mmmmmmm I still use UDPP on top of Lemon Aid to be honest so I’d def still use primer :)

I love Lemon Aid too!! I’ve used Erase Paste and Boing, and they’re both nice concealers- my favorite is still the Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer though! Funny story- when I first was looking at Benefit concealers, the Sephora SA kept telling me “Oh, you will love the Bee- Yoing! Bee-Yoing is the best!”- and she was making little sound effects to describe the name. I think it might be part of the reason I bought it.

I own a single concealer, it’s from MAC and I’ve had it for the past 2 years and it’s still half full. I though that using concealer over my spots and their scars would give me the flawless face seen in magazines, alas, I discovered that was more as a result of Photoshop.
I have since given up concealer. It just slides right off my face anyways T.T

This is radder than rad. Concealer is one of those things I cannot live without. Not even for a moment.

The timeliness of this post is spot-on. This morning was a big old rush and I scooped a bunch of makeup into my purse so I could do my face on the way to work. (CAUTION: What follows is extremely disturbing for concealer addicts. Proceed at your own risk.) I discovered halfway to the office that I had not brought my Bobbi Brown color corrector or my Boi-ing. I know. It’s bad. I felt something inside me wither and die, and I’ve been twitchy and neurotic all day, dodging the mirror in the bathroom and staying cloistered in my office.

Reply

the Muse February 1, 2010 at 4:11 pm

That’s it, Muse! I’m done reading your reviews! In 10 minutes I’m convinced that I NEED this palette and some things from Bobby Brown Cabana Corals.

Of course I’m joking, but seriously, you’re killing me here!!! :D

But I have to say I like Erase Paste better than Boi-ing, mainly because of the ‘older eyes’ (I have them too, almost 40 years old eyes).

And I don’t have That Gal, but I got a sample and loved it. Well, I love every item in this pallete (except for Eye Bright, I haven’t used this). For $38 is a good deal!

Thank you! And you know I thank you for many things. ;)

omg are you? I had no idea. I’m getting there myself! erase paste is great but a bit too much for me, creases ack! But I’ve grown to love since using it. bright eye is nice, good for the corner of the eye where shadows develop :)

I always wonder how much concealer they put to have such a flawless face! hahaha… Mayb they are lucky to be born with good complexion…

I love Benefit… their concept is sooo cute~~

Oh, yay! I’ve been waiting to try like…everything in this palette.
But! I do have a question.
I’m pale (with pink undertones). And I mean REALLY pale. Almost translucent, really.

How would these shades work for someone like me ? (Because in pictures, the colors seem far too dark for me.)
Would I just be better off buying full sizes in my own shade (if they carry my shade)?

Reply

the Muse February 1, 2010 at 4:25 pm

mmm karli it might not work so fab. The lighter Boi-ing yes but erase paste leans towards being salmon in some cases and that might be so fab on your skin. It might be best to head in store, sephora, or a benefit counter, and having a little swatch to see if the shades are suitable as they MAY be too dark for such white skin.

Hope this helps!

I’ve been following your blog for the past month and I am so in love with it! I think I’m visiting your site more often than MUA. hahahaha. Your reviews are so awesome and I wanna thank you for exposing me to the Skinfood line (I ran out and bought the same stuff as you did after reading the reviews ^-^) My skin has never been this soft and clear before^-^

Anyway, regarding the benefit concealaholic, omg, I WANT. I’ve always wanted to try all their concealers and this is so perfect.

I agree, I know so many people that have wanted to indulge in all three concealers but always scared to do…and now you can get them ALL in one place, how rocking is that? :-D

I’m such a sucker for kits and Benefit, so a Benefit kit might just send me over the edge. I love Lemon-Aid and Boi-ing, and I get on OK with That Gal, so I can’t wait till it hits the UK. Fingers crossed it won’t be too long.

Oh, you mentioned that the Boi-ing is in a light shade and a dark. Do you know if it’s 01+02 or 02+03? I am very fair – I could make 01+02 work but I’d struggle with 02+03.

Thanks

I was very happy to read your post (I AM a conceal-a-holic) until I realized that due to my extremely fair skin, and Benefit’s “one size fits all” mentality when it comes to kits, this would be a wasted purchase for me as I would only be able to use 1 or 2 of the products, at most. I have written to Benefit over the years begging them to take into consideration that not everyone out there has a yellow-based, medium complexion but I have never even received a “thanks for your email…we’ll take it into consideration” response from them. I wish someone would go to bat for us super fair-skinned chicks with Benefit (among others) so we could get in on all the good products they make…sigh. I am REALLY geting tired of being discriminated against becuase my skin is so pale….trust me, it wasn’t my choice to be this pale!

Reply

the Muse February 9, 2010 at 2:35 pm

aw jenn sorry to hear it! Totally understand as many readers complain about the lack of shades when it comes to Benefit! I use two concealers regularly, and most definitely will not leave the house without them on. I probably own about 4 or 5, but I am prety much fairest of the fair, so many are just too dark for me, and these are two shades that work for me. I would love, love, love to try this set. That Gal sounds like it would be good for me. Alas, I don’t even wear liquid foundation, but rather mineral, because they have all been too dark for me. I am sure I would adore this set.

Reply

the Muse February 15, 2010 at 8:02 pm

Oh, and I definitely conceal alone, and am always checking others out to see if their concealer is noticeable… lol. I am a concealaholic.

I guess I should give this a try because I’m still waiting on a good night’s sleep to erase those darn circles from under my eyes.

Reply

the Muse February 9, 2010 at 3:03 pm

LOL me too vanessa! I always need more and I’m utterly lacking so good concealer helps me look like I had 10 hours instead of the 4 I really had!

Hanne February 9, 2010 at 3:17 pm

Definitively a concealaholic. But I have an incredible number of concealers, because it’s almost impossible to find the right color. They’re always to yellow.

Reply

the Muse February 9, 2010 at 3:25 pm

hanne but yellow is always good for erasing dark circles :-D But I hear you many are very yellow based!

Reply

Hanne February 9, 2010 at 3:36 pm

He he. I pretty much need a concealer for everything BUT dark circles. I am so excited to try this.

Reply

the Muse February 9, 2010 at 4:24 pm

hanne my dark circles aren’t too, too bad either but def need for fine lines and puff :-D

Christina February 9, 2010 at 3:26 pm

I guess I am a concealaholic!! If it makes up for it, I use a bit of concealer where I need it and a bit of finishing powder and then I’m done!

I’d much rather be a concealaholic than a foundationaholic!!

So what is this “Beauty reward from Benefit”that you speak of in the TB.com email?? :)

oh, yeah, I’ve been a concealaholic for more years than you might guess. It has always been my #1 go to item. Even when I go to Pilates early in the morning, the ONLY thing I put on my face is concealer. I have allergies and fair skin. It is a must!

Reply

the Muse February 9, 2010 at 4:30 pm

hey patricia! Bobbi Brown claims you’ll need little to know foundation when your eyes are concealed properly :) so you’re def doing the right thing with a bit of concealer you’re good to go!

â– Do you own more than three concealers?
Yes. Green, Yellow, Skin Tone, Darker Skin Tone, Lighter Skin Tone..

â– Do you refuse to leave the house without concealing?
Oh of course!! It’s the first thing I do in the morning strait out of bed to the mirror…then brush my teeth.

â– Do you conceal alone?
Nope. My cat stares at me thinking ” what is with this crazy human and why does she do this every morning ”

â– Have you ignored friends to spend quality time with your concealers?
Well..
I’m gonna plead the 5th on this one.

â– Do you conceal more than four times a day?
I’m not gonna lie..I probably have.

■When you look at other people, do you wonder of they’re concealaholics?
I do. I also wonder what color underwear they have on but you know..doesn’t everyone?

the Muse February 9, 2010 at 4:28 pm

I am So a concealoholic and proud of it. I wear it all the time, to bed, and refresh it when I get up in the morning, through work all day and other times depending on the situation. I love Benefit’s products and I don’t think its necessarily a bad thing to be a concealaholic! If anything, it means you’re on top of your game, always lookin fresh as a daisy:)

the Muse February 9, 2010 at 8:48 pm

You cannot possibly understand how badly I need this palette! I am in the early yet have-waited-much-too-long stage of being a concealaholic! I still have not found the product that is just right for me, well, until now. Gotta love Benefit!

the Muse February 10, 2010 at 8:31 am

paula I hear ya :-D concealaholics NEED a good concealing palette :) Be careful concealism tends to turn into an uncontrollable disease as time goes on :)

I finally just scored this at Ulta after stalking five different stores each day during my lunch break (because I’m pathetic). Besides almost sobbing with joy, I’m pretty sure I was already petting it and giggling in the store, all the while freaking out fellow customers and sales people alike. I know I could have ordered it online, but that would mean that I would need to compulsively check shipping (totally agreed on your mailman stocking post, I am also an instant gratification girl)! So happy, thanks for the wonderful review as usual.
