Would You Buy It? Kim Kardashian Perfume

Kim Kardashian Perfume

The Muse has a love/hate relationship with Kim Kardashian. I hate her because I can’t stand reality TV, OMG reality telly is my pet peeve. I’m a PBS nerd so you can take it from there what sort of viewing habits I have as far as the tube goes. You can just imagine what it’s like when I switch on the TV and I’m presented with shows like Keeping Up with The Kardashians…lame-o!

Anyway.

I love her because I really do think she’s an utterly flawless looking girl. I’d love to meet her makeup artist. Kinda have the hint of a girl crush on her. I know little to nothing about her mind you aside from her looks as I never really paid much attention to her show or interviews and such with her although I did hear her brief, short replies during her spot on the Howard Stern recently…yea I know how ironic it is that I listen to Howard Stern but hate reality TV, shrug.

I’m babbling.

Fact is that Kim now has her own fragrance. The new Kim Kardashian Perfume is coming to Sephora shortly and I’m honestly intrigued and curious how it might smell.

Question is, would you buy it?

Kim Kardashian Perfume sports notes of soft jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia mirror, tonka bean, jacaranda wood, and sandalwood with a warm, sensual base.

It does sound mildly spicy and perhaps dark but I’ll have to test out and see. I admit I am curious but I tend to get that way with most celeb fragrances.

Kim Kardashian Eau de Parfum will run from $35 to $65 and will be available shortly from Sephora. I think I’ll take a trip in just to sniff. I probably won’t buy but you never know it might strike me as a must have.

Would you buy it?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. hey paloma.

I guess that’s kinda the normal range for counter perfume! 🙂

  • suz

I HATE CELEBRITY PERFUMES…EVEN IF IT HAS THE BEST SMELL……so NO I would NEVER buy her’s either. They are not so special…so why should I wear “their” scent….which am sure they did not even come up with!!

    • the Muse

      hi suz.

I don’t celeb scents so much. I believe most of them are kinda involved with the process of creating the fragrance so it’s not completely done by someone else 🙂

  • Dana

Unless I have complete dislike of a “celebrity ” like Heidi Montag or actress Kathrine Heigl, all I care about is that the perfume smell nice on me.

    • the Muse

me too dana 🙂 I don’t mind celeb fragrances in the least and sometimes kinda a fan girl with some like Kat Von D I got hyped about but didn’t really like the way they smelled sadly, bu loved she created it with such an edge!

      • anna

for the most part they are poorly made. I did buy Kim’s perfume GOLD and the scent was great but it lasted only 30 minutes on me. NOT worth the money at all!!!! I find that all the celebrity scents I have bought are garbage…SORRY!!!

  • Ricci

I have a collection of Perfumes (13) lucky number!
If I liked the smell Id def get it

  • donna

I’m not a fan of celebrity perfumes. Not because they are made by celebrities but because 90% of them smell like crap and the other 10% just don’t smell good enough to make me wanna drop the cash on them. Right now I’m saving up for Chanel Chance so unless Kim Kardashian’s perfume can surpass Chanel, it’s a no go for me. Kim surpass Chanel? I know, I just made a funny. 🙂

    • the Muse

lol donna I gotta say you are right…I’m more along the lines of about 80% are garbage. LOL sorry kim chanel def tops her!

  • Tammy

It’s a principle thing. I can’t support these new breed of ‘celebs’ who only got famous off a homemade porno and released it online. I’d rather go naked than wear Kim Kardashian XD

  • Kayvid

    Hi Muse! Happy New Year!
I generally dont like KimK because of various reasons but the packaging on this is pretty smart and it sounds like a dark woodsy perfume which is what I like…need to check this out…I’ll just tell people it’s the new King Kong perfume LOL!!!
I wanted to thank you for your Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous review. I love the basic Lash Stiletto irrespective of the popular opinion and hence I had to try this. Love it! Thanks!

    • the Muse

hi kayvid…she has alot of baggage so it’s understandable but I do think she’s a very pretty girl. LOL!!!!!! what are you wearing? Think quick and LIE!

omg that’s fab so glad you like it. I’m really enjoying it myself as well. I noticed the pop opinion leans towards hate…but I generally liked both formulas! I’m glad it worked for you!

  • Bakeneko

I’m a real snob about celebrity fragrance – I wouldn’t wear one no matter what it smelt like or how much I liked the celebrity!

In fact, I’m really fussy about fragrance in general – I don’t really like wearing anything that is easy to get hold of in most department stores.

Kind of irrational but that is just how I feel! Haha 😀

    • the Muse

bakeneko you too eh? 😀 I’ve found a few I like…Like I love the Harajuku Lovers! Can’t get enough of ’em 🙂

Oh me too. I love homegrown blends 😀 Like Bpal, Lights and Lathers stuff, etc!

Not irrational in the least doll!

      • Bakeneko

I love the posts you have done about unusual fragrances from etailers 🙂

I’ve got an exciting little package of fragrance on it’s way from Etsy 🙂

        • the Muse

ah fantastic bakeneko I really like finding unique fragrances, those are some of my favs particularly from etailers have you tried Bpal before? that’s my truest fragrance love!

          yay! whatcha get?!

          • Bakeneko

I have got Bpal bookmarked (from one of your posts) and I intend on indulging very soon. It looks right up my street hehe.

I have ordered a sampler set of 12 oils from 13 Gypsies Perfumery –

I couldn’t resist the names and labels, and the blends sound gorgeous 🙂

          • the Muse

omg awesome bakeneko! You’ll see become an addict promise! OMG just visited must explore deeper but these are exactly the type of fragrances I love, very bpal-ish and unique!

  • Jennifer

There was a page in this month’s Glamour (with Katy Perry on the cover) that had a tester strip on it of the fragrance, and nothing personally against Kim K, but it kind of smelled like generic, cheap perfume. Granted, it could have been because it was on paper, but I wasn’t impressed.

  • Melissa

so I love the fragrance by Sara Jessica Parker (Lovely) – I wear it and enjoy it but I’m not an SJP fan. Not a hater just not an admirier. So bottom line i’m on the bandwagon of does it smell good? Yes? ok I want it. 🙂

    • the Muse

melissa I like lovely, don’t own but def smells pretty 😀

this was too dark for me. I smelled a sample and it’s a bit too deep and rich if you like deeper scents it’ll probably appeal

  • Sarah

I would not buy this. I don’t have a problem with celeb fragrances (Britney Spears’s Fantasy is my fave scent everrr), but I am not a Kim K fan. I also don’t like spicy or woodsy scents.

  • Ciambella

I’m hooked on perfume oils; can’t bother with the fancy designer fragrances!

…Except Bvlgari’s The Vert, which was my first fragrance-y thing ever. Went straight from Bvlgari to Haunt (closed, so sad!) and Arcana, and the rest is history and an empty wallet.

    • the Muse

same here ciambella love bpal 🙂

LOL! I hear you Bvlagri Vert is an interesting one!

  • MC

I’m willing to smell it for the sake of smelling it. I like to smell drive every new perfume in hopes of finding a new one to splurge on if I love it. I have to admit though, the only “celebrity” perfume I have liked out of all the ones on the market are Harajuku Lovers scents. Everything else smells or reminds me of rotten flowers, cheap women, those horrid designer imposers body sprays, a female version of Axe if they were to ever make such a product or just something that flairs my allergies up.

    • the Muse

hi mc I smelled it a few days ago, I’m not really all that impressed, little too dark for me. mmmm I’m trying to think if I loved any other celeb ones, Paris hilton kinda has some nice ones although I’m not her biggest fan some of her scents are nice. I do like the Ed Hardy ones on some level but I dunno…depends I guess and def a harajuku fan too! LOL axe!

      • MC

I do love Gwen Stefani’s LAMB. I keep forgetting it’s a celebrity perfume because it doesn’t remind me of one lol.

My mother gave me a HUGE bottle of Calvin Klein’s Euphoria that a friend of hers gave her for Christmas that she HATED when she smelled it. I was allover it it like a greedy kid in a candy store. It slightly reminded me of Marc Jacob’s Lola which I have been lusting for but not willing to buy since I recently bought the 3/4 bottle of Couture Couture for myself. Needless to say, I gave a BIG thanks to mom for that. <3

        • the Muse

mc I smelled it once and kinda pushed it to the side, really need to take a 2nd sniff. I haven’t smelled Euphoria, must check it out! I love Lola 😀 so better get on the CK! 😀

  • jen

omg you listen to Howard! thats so awesome, Im a superfan lol, listened over 10 yrs!

    • the Muse

ha jen! me too..gosh prob over 10 years! He’s fab 😀 I find him oddly sexy!

  • monique r.

the fact that you listen to howard stern only makes me <3 you more!!!!

    PS. Ack, ARTIE! 🙁

    • the Muse

LOL monique stern fan eh? 🙂

I know ack is right. I couldn’t believe it when I heard! 9 times?! geez

  • Angela

Celebrities need to stop attempting to bank on having their own fragrance.
I doubt they wear their own scents! I just sampled Kim’s new fragrance… it’s bad. It may have smelled good to her when she approved it (compared with the others presented to her that day based on her likes) but to actually wear it is another story. If celebrities want in on the mix… I think they should just model for a real perfume designer’s label… like Charlize Theron’s Dior ads.

    • the Muse

hey angela. Mmm lots of folk seem to feel the same way. I don’t mind celeb fragrances so long as they smell nice. I tried this too and didn’t like it, too dark 😛

  • B

i wouldn’t buy it just because kim made it. also im kind of scared to even smell it..on sephora.com the kim kardashian perfume has so many BAD reviews, many people said it smells like a gross old lady…

    • the Muse

hey b! i didn’t get gross old lady from it lol but it doesn’t smell nice either, bit too dark for me 🙁
