Hey chicklets!

As per my original post shouting to the Gods above that Kat Von D was on sale of course the Muse went ahead and hauled soon after her yelling and carrying on about the sale.

I couldn’t resist $10 Kat Von D Rock n Roll Eyeshadow Duos so I grabbed all the shades. Eep! I’m a little diseased, not alot, just a little.

Have a jump for some makeup porn and a brief babble about these!

Glad I paid $10 bucks as I think that’s kinda all they are worth. Packaging wise these are brilliant. They are heavy, rubberized compacts with a huge mirror under the lid and the Kat Von D “inked” design decorating the compact. Problem…did you catch it yet? I said rubberized as in NARS. I find this style packaging gets sticky, grimy, and just terribly dirty. You do have to be extra careful when using them as they will get pretty nasty quickly without proper care.

On the topic of formula…..

As a few of you mentioned in prior posts the duos do not sport the same formula as the Kat Von D True Romance Palettes. These are a tad more frosty in finish which I can’t pull of so well. One side is satiny finish and the other a lighter silver glitter packed shade. Thing is it’s like one shade split down the middle with one side slapped with a buncha silver glitter and the other without. It’s not really a contrasting shade of shadow in my opinion and once blended you’ll never notice that the shades graduate, it just all blends together into a single shade with a ton of shimmer and a frosty finish. Shadows are nicely pigmented however nothing like the palettes as the texture is considerably different and not as lovely in my opinion.

Overall, at $10 they are a steal and worth a pick up however the frosty finish keeps me from giving them all my love plus I’m actually relieved I paid that price. At a higher price I’d say I’d be very disappointed but at this lower price tag, not so much.

Likey on some levels but no likey on others. Ok shadow, but not life changing.

Can you give any advice on how best to clean these NARS packages? I figured that you know your stuff! Thanks!

hey kirstie :)

I use a little alcohol sometimes or a warm well wrung out wet wash cloth. Hope this helps!
