Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist Review, Photos
Gather round kids.
Let me tell you, I can’t begin to list the number of collagen washes and various ranges of skincare that feature collagen in Asia. The amount is astounding. Boggles my little mind.
Collagen is quite the popular commodity in Asia. Perhaps this is why all Asian woman look incredibly young and gorgeous well into their golden years.
As for me I like the way a good collagen wash feels on my face. Feels all slippery and hydrating! Loves! I don’t really think the US embraces the entire collagen thing as much as Asia does. Sure we have skincare that includes it but Asia goes steps further with toners, lotions, washes, and more.
What’s it do?
It’s supposed to help skin retain moisture as well as increasing it and improving the skin while decreasing wrinkles. I’ve used collagen products for a while but I can’t really say if they working to decrease wrinkles since I haven’t reached that stage on my face however in combination with hyaluronic acid I can noticeably see how much more hydrated my skin feels and how it retains better levels of moisture.
Regardless this might be a bit boring and I’m not a chemist but it was a good lead in to my review of the new-ish (new-ish since it released two months or so ago) Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist which supposedly boasts 1000 MG of Collagen.
Let’s have a look!
A facial mist that sports a 1000 MG of Collagen for a lasting, hydrating effect!
Packaging wise the entire Sana Hadanomy Collection gets props. This is a girlish pink bottle with a lace heart emblem. The collection features the facial mist, lotion (this is toner however Asian’s refer to it as lotion), and a facial cream.
I’ll be doing a review on each piece but I thought I’d start with the mist. This is a thicker mist than many you’ve tried I’m sure. It has a hydrating feel, AMAZING, truly amazing. The formula mimics that of Etude House Collagen Moistfull Essence In Primer but has a thicker formula. It kinda feels like your spraying a gel moisturizer on your face. This mist is definitely not finer so I suggest misting your face and pressing the palms of your hands against your cheeks and warming it up and proceeding to pat it gently into place (clean hands please).
It has a beautiful scent that kinda leans towards Kose Happy Bath Day but not bad in the way Kose’s scent is. It has a sweet rose note that’s very dominate and fresh but also a very pleasing twang of lemon that comes across tart. The lemon really seals the deal for me as it doesn’t let the fragrance venture into the realms of TP (toilet paper) smelling. Seriously, Asian body mists and powders sometimes go this route.
I think the best thing about the mist is the fact that it absorbs so easily and leaves my skin with a super charge of moisture. I notice a visible improvement on patchy, flaky areas on my skin such as between my brows and on my cheeks. The effect is long lasting as well since it keeps my skin feeling moist and dewy to the touch all day plus allows my skin to absorb product easier such as facial creams and the like.
I paid retail from Japan however prices do get jacked up online and tracking product down etc…off of E-bay and online shops can prove irritating but I think it’s worth it.
- Dry skin types who need to retain more moisture and want a dewy complexion.
- Those with dull skin (I thought this gave me a bit of a rosy glow but maybe I’m imaging things)
- Anyone with oily skin (I honestly can’t say how well this would work with oily skin but I’d probably avoid it when my own skin takes on a bit of oil during the Summer, feels a bit too heavy and possibly greasy for oily skin).
- Anyone unwilling to go through the drama of online shopping, airmail shipping, etc…(this is a Japanese product so you may need to do a little leg work to find it).
From time to time Sana really misses the boat on some of their releases but the Sana Hadanomy Collagen Collection was an instant hit for me. I hope they continue to keep this on because the products are solid and have great quality to them at a decent price tag (even online with jacked up pricing). I absolutely loved the mist and it’s one of the better ones I’ve tried in a while. If you have dry skin, check this out, you’ll ADORE it.
