Sephora Ultra Shine Lip Gloss Review, Swatches, Photos
I’m not a fond fan of the Sephora Makeup Collection in all honesty but occasionally something pops up that stops me in my tracks and so is the case with the new Sephora Ultra Shine Lipgloss.
Part of the appeal here was the $14 price tag since, on occasion, Sephora pricing is surprisingly high. I was impressed with the larger size and $14 buck price tag.
Let’s take a look because really it could be for free but with a bad formula who would want it right?

A maximum-shine, moisturizing gloss starring a new generation of “multi-holographic” shimmers, for perfect light reflection.
Props to Sephora for creating a really nice gloss. They tote this as having a long term moisturizing effect and claim anyone who uses it will experience lasting hydration effects, sadly I didn’t experience that but I have nothing bad to say about the formula.
From the pigmentation to the formula, price and texture of each gloss I was pretty happy overall. I tried out two shades, Orange Juice (shimmery neon orange) and Fresh Peach (golden peachy pink) both of which had really nice color payoff. I liked both shades very much and both stand out as interesting ones to add to your collection particularly Orange Juice if you’re embracing the orange trend for Spring.
Formula has a nice hydrating finish and builds up easily thanks to a smallish hourglass style sponge applicator. The applicator is interesting and works quite well at disturbing color and picking it up from the bottle to build up easily on lips. The product has a smooth finish with a bit of shimmer and excellent color pay off however it doesn’t have a crazy shiny, glossy look but more of a subtle hint of shine.
The wear time is a tad disappointing and will only get you through a three hour period before melting away. However, I did notice it leaves behind a bit of a stain this happened particularly with Orange Juice as it left my lips stained orange, this is great if you’re not one for touch up as you’re at the very least not completely bared lipped.
- Those seeking a budget friendly gloss with a good formula ($14 and a generous size makes them an affordable option).
- Those seeking a glossy with a shimmery finish with good pigmentation and a variety of colors (Sephora has quite a nice range of shades available in shimmery finishes that aren’t overly done).
- Those who dislike Sephora Cosmetics (These might just surprise you!).
- Those wanting a long wearing gloss (if you’re looking for four or more hours of wear, look elsewhere).
Overall, Sephora Ultra Shine Lip Gloss proves an interesting little gloss that I will indulge in more shades of. Although not nearly as shiny in finish as I prefer my glosses, I still liked these none the less and thought they performed pretty well particularly because I’m a tad bias when it comes to Sephora’s makeup selection.
Not too bad at all and a game changer for me.
Anyone try ’em?
