KATE Stick Concealer Review & Swatches

KATE is a Japanese line of cosmetics sold under the Kanebo brand name. With brands like Lavshuca under their belt I’d say that KATE proves the more edgy in the Kanebo family with a range of bolder shades of color.

They recently introduced a few new concealers and revised formulas of concealers to their catalog, well, perhaps not that recently as its been several months since I purchased some of the new items.

Let’s take a look at the KATE Stick Concealer.

I don’t typically love stick concealers but this has a nice formula so I’m willing to overlook the packaging.

It’s a pretty basic, tiny stick concealer. There aren’t a ton of perks to go along with it but it serves the purpose for concealing under eyes and on face.

The formula is creamy and blends easily. It runs a little drier but not so much so that you’ll run into issues blending or problems with the product creasing into finer lines. It has sheer to medium coverage and can build easily for better coverage but does need a little work to get into place when you’re apply a thicker layer since it goes a bit cakey for fuller coverage. Wear time is fairly long as I can get at least six hours in before I notice some fading.

It brightens up things nicely under the eyes and conceals finer lines as well as darkness and bags/puffiness.

I think, dare I say, it reminds me most of the more expensive Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer for a fraction of the cost.

This one performs well and has a decent formula but on the down side its only available in two shades. If you fit into the lighter to medium fair skin tone you’re golden if not you’re sadly out in the cold. But you do have to remember this is marketed for an Asia demographic thus the lack of shades.

All in all a fairly nice concealer just not a ton of bells and whistles to go along with it.

You can snag it for pennies at AlphaBeautyUK on E-bay. I got mine from Japan and find the cost on E-bay as close to retail as you’d get in Asia.

Anyone try it?

Might have to snag one of these with my next Adambeauty order (just did a huge one so it’ll be a bit). I don’t normally conceal (I realized it doesn’t look good w/o foundation etc.) but it’s worth a try haha.
