Majolica Majorca Blood On Review & Swatches

Sounds weird doesn’t it? Blood On? But that’s what Majolica Majorca has named its new potted gel blush!

Take a look!

Actually, Majolica Majorca Blood On is a revamp of a long ago product that MJ released entitled Flesh & Blood in Japan. If you’ve been collecting MJ for a while you probably remember Flesh & Blood in the tube format.

In my opinion, Blood On regresses slightly since Flesh & Blood’s packaging was way more hygienic. But on the plus side, I find this formula every so delightful so long as you can get past the packaging. Interestingly enough it looks larger than a tube of Flesh & Blood but actually only houses half the amount of product weighting in at 5 grams versus the 10 gram tube!

Housed in a screw top jar, this is a gel formula which has a hydrating feel. It tints cheeks a delightful shade depending on your skin tone. For me, it goes on a flush of reddish pink but it’ll reflect different depending how much lighter or darker you are. For example, on my sister’s cheeks, it comes across as a brighter, healthier shade of red.

The formula is lightweight, blends easily, and is fragrance-free. Wear time is a little short where as Flesh & Blood had a nice long wear through the day I find Blood On needs a touch up around hour three.

Overall, she proves a lovely little addition to my minimal makeup collection on the days I’m just too lazy to wear anything else but still want to look alive so to speak.

Natural, pretty, and fairly cheap too for around $13 bucks from online sellers. I recommend Gooddealer.com for a purchase as it’ll set you back around $15-$16 which includes shipping.

Muse Approved for purchase.

Aside of the packaging, it’s perfect if you like minimal makeup and healthy blushing cheeks!

P.S. Cut a sister a break, I’m not wearing concealer or foundation, you can see it gives just the right amount of wow to my duller skin.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. Cute! Now if only MajoMajo would release actual COLLECTIONS and not 1 or 2 arbitrary products here and there. Hello, I want some eyeshadow quads, thanks!!

      • Tammie Rubin

LE quads for their seasonal collections I mean :). Like for Christmas all they had was like a hand cream or something?

        • the Muse

aw I hear ya…been a while since they released LE quads, not sure why they have been so slow with collections lately!

  • HapaGirl84

Ooh, pretty! I can see that being a good look for a “I just need to run to the store” situation. 🙂

  • christine

its been a while since u purchased majolica. if theres anything you should try, get the lash king!!!

    • the Muse

already have it christine 🙂 been buying MJ just haven’t reviewed it a while 🙂

  • Comrade Garlic

I’m on my last tube of Flesh and Blood. I love it. It’s what Benetint, Tarte Cheek Stains and the Nars Multiple sticks should be. Long wearing, easy to blend and sit well on top of anything. Bare skin, liquid/cream or powder foundation, it doesn’t matter.

I’m not sure about the new incarnation. But I’m sure I’ll buy it.

    • the Muse

I’m on my last tube as well Comrade 🙁 sadness! it really is a fab little product, even the orange shade works for me!

  • lola

Muse, do you know where to get this brand in the US specifically California? C:

    • the Muse

not sure lola, sorry, I purchase most Japanese cosmetics online, that’s where I have the most success.

  • plue

i think this is sold out in Malaysia already! By the time I know about it, it’s gone! 🙂

But you adorable with such a healthy flush big sis!

  • Musebeliever

I like it ! I don’t mind that type of packaging at all. 😉

  • Dawn

You can use it on your lips for a tint of colour too! I tried the tester at Watsons, really like the colour but the tub packaging turns me off..so didn’t purchase it

  • Sarah S.

I don’t mind the packaging b/c I really hate using my fingers to apply makeup, so I’d use a stippling brush anyway. You look really lovely without foundation/concealer, can we trade skins? I look like a greased-up zombie without those two holy items, lol

    • the Muse

you are TOO kind. I look pasty, dull, and all kinds of bad without concealer/base ;-D oily skin is good though, keeps you looking younger longer ;D!

  • K

I don’t really bear blush. but I bought this bcos I am a MJ fan, and the packaging is lovely!

  • Cj

This totally reminded me of that tarte true blood cheek stain lol I needa go find it! 😛

  • Susan

    • the Muse

aw you’re too kind susan thanks! ;-D agreed, they make such fun stuff 🙂

  • Gala

Muse! would you say it compare to Mac’s just a pinch? Do you have a recommendation for a gel blush with a good staying power?
    thanks love

    • the Muse

yes gala, def, but the formula is a bit more emollient, just a pinch was a little denser. gel blush pot? most have kinda short wear times. liquid gels are best for the longest wear. I personally LOVE vincent longo stains. Those are my favs! those are a gel liquid.
