Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Prime Time Oil Control Foundation Primer

Bare Escentuals extends its Prime Time Foundation Primer with a new Oil Control formula for Summer (ya know, when your forehead gets so oily your friend is asking you to lean down so she can apply her lipstick in the mirror-like shine that is your skin!).

Bare Minerals Prime Time Oil Control Foundation Primer is a new formulation of Prime Time that offers a silky, smooth canvas for makeup to adhere to while combating excess oil, absorbing shine, and minimizing the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles.

This one is a great pick for oily or sensitive, problem-prone skin.

Do you know if they reformulated it? They’ve had an oil control primer for a long time, but this looks like new packaging if not a new formula.

Hey there! I’m a makeup artist at a bareMinerals boutique and yes, they have revamped the formula. I did have to contact BE to find out exactly what was different and this is what I was told. The new formula for the oil control is a water based formula with silica, vitamin c and e, aloe leaf, chamomile and licorice root to remove the more chemical-like products that were in the old one. This one is more natural, softer, smoother, and all around works a lot better. If you’ve got oily skin or are just trying to keep from sweating your makeup off this summer, check it out. I approve.

Hey, we should start a new thread! “You know your skin is oily when…”

      I LIKE it ;D

My forehead is mirror worthy all the time, not just in summer:-( Thank goodness blotting sheets are cheap.

They reformulated it and it is 1000x better than the old one. This one gives a great matte finish and isn’t nearly as difficult to work with as the original Oil Control Prime Time was because if you buffed while a tiny bit wasn’t all the way dry, the primer would flake. Problem solved, plus texture enhancement. I’ve compared them side by side and the difference is SO amazing :)

Colored me curious. Will have to give a go. I tried the other one and I wasn’t impressed.
