HadaLabo Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Face Mist Review

I picked up HadaLabo Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Face Mist a few months ago on a whim since I loved the idea of adding another moisturizing mist to my stash.

I typically use mists after a shower before my makeup and in the evening after cleansing to add a bit more moisture to my skin as well as to refresh it. On a rare occasion I also use it to set my makeup but this isn’t often.

Considering how great HadaLabo products are at retaining moisture I was quite excited to give their mist a try.

This a small size mist that’s mineral oil and alcohol free. Typically Hadalabo products promise long lasting moisture and hydration thanks to their version of a super powered hyaluronic acid.

Personally I thought the mist was just basic in comparison to many of their other products. It’s a super fine mist so it’ll work well at setting mineral or powder foundation and it does nicely as a pick me up mist after cleansing your face. I didn’t feel like it was incredibly moisturizing though and didn’t think it retained moisture very well either. I expected the bouncy, smoothness I get when using some of HadaLabo’s other lotion and essence products but this doesn’t produce the same effect.

It should prove gentle enough for those with sensitive skin as it is fragrance-free. It’s not sticky or tacky after use which is another plus as HadaLabo products can get a little tacky if you don’t allow them proper time to absorb or you don’t apply them correctly.

If it was more readily available locally I’d probably suggest a purchase but since it is a little tricky to locate outside of the Internet I would call it as I see it, a basic mist without a ton of bells and whistles. Hadalabo exceeds at creating some highly moisturizing products but I felt like their face mist failed in this department.

Just a regular mist here, nothing too special.

Sasa.com carries much of the Hadalabo Collection if you’re interested.

Love me some Hada Labo stuff. I usually get my Asian skincare fix on at New Kam Man Supermarket over on Canal Street but I haven’t seen this there (maybe because I wasn’t looking?).

Have you tried the thermal mist from la Roche posay? It’s kind of amazing and super cheap! It comes in a 5oz aerosol can and it’s only 12 bucks 🙂 I use it with their cleansig water on days in super lazy (or super tipsy! Lol) and don’t feel like going through my nighttime routine

YES! I love it. Also I love the H20 plus one, which is fairly cheap as well ;-D good stuff!

Hyaluronic acid works for wrinkles because the molecule swells after it absorbs water, and that plumps lines on the spot. Look for products with hyaluronic acid listed near the top of the ingredient list, cause that means there is alot of it. I use Lady Soma’s Renewal Serum for my hyaluronic acid and will never stop using it. Its my favorite – and I am so happy everyone is into hyaluronic acid now because it does work!
