Seriously, did I just pay near $21 for these two mascaras?

Maybelline VolumExpress The Mega Plump Mascara LOreal Power Volume 24H Voluminous Mascara

The new Maybelline Volum’Express The Mega Plush Mascara and L’Oreal Power Volume 24H Voluminous Mascara cost me near $21 bucks at CVS…WTF? Beauty on a budget my azz!

Someone have my head examined.

Have you tried either one yet?

I typically hate L’Oreal Mascaras so I have a feeling I wasted $11 dollars for this one!

Cvs is the most expensive of the drugstores!! Bed bath and beyond, Harmon, Walmart or Walgreens are always cheaper!! Ugh!! Are they any good?? U could have gotten 4 eyeshadows from Inglot #justsayin. Btw love the new look!!

The L’oreal mascara isn’t too shabby. I had my reservations about the Maybelline mascara so I skipped on that one for the moment.
Unless I have coupons and there is a sale or I desperately need mascara, I don’t normally get mascaras from the drugstore since they seem to cost so much.
Love the new lay out by the way.

Wait for sales! You can always get drugstore products less than retail price because there are always “buy one get one 50% off” or even “buy one get one free” sale. =)

I have Mega Plush, it’s not what I expected. It separates like a dream, is truly waterproof minus the hardness and flaking while still holding a curl but it didn’t fatten my lashes a darn bit. :(

I heard the mega plush one smudges kinda easily on asian eyelids (specifically hooded + mono ones) so I decided to pass this up :( Looking forward to the review though! :) I can’t tell, but is the one you got waterproof?

Same here, L’oreal mascaras really don’t work for me, I totally wasted like ~$14 on the false fiber one!

the l’oreal you mean grace? that’s wp yes. I hate reviewing stuff that smudges for everyone as I typically don’t have smudging issues so it’s difficult for me to review :-/ blah! yeah, and the millionaire yada yada, what’s it called!? lol that’s how memorable it was..garbage

I never buy anything full price at a drugstore, but I understand what you mean about needing them for reviews. If there is something I just can’t wait for I try to get it at Walmart, they usually have the lowest regular price. Everything is going up… but it is also, for the most part, getting better… so I guess you have to take the good with the bad. I’ve been waiting for WnW to jack up their prices with all the publicity they have had the last year.

I usually find that drugstore mascaras are well worth the money, except for Maybelline. I don’t know what it is, but nothing happens when I put them on and 3 hours later I find all of it under the eyes…

Ah, you want pain? Try living in Australia. $21 would get you only one of them. :) No wonder I don’t bother with drugstore brands – $35 for a Revlon foundation here – why on earth would I buy that when my favourite Shiseido one is $45 on Strawberrynet!

Well damn! I agree CVS is expensive but their doggone beauty club and getting the bonus bucks get me every time! I need to replenish my mascaras., Trying not to have so many. Think I’m going to revisit some drugstore options since I’ve been a high end kick.

I bought the L’Oreal mascara a couple of days ago, and I L-O-V-E it so far, although I don’t like the size of the brush. It makes me nervous to apply it because I’m afraid I’m going to get mascara all over my lids, which is more of a problem on days I wear eye shadow. I’m interested in hearing your thoughts, especially as you don’t like L’Oreal mascaras (I’m hit or miss on them myself, but I love the Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black.)

    Hey Muse
CVS is $$$ but they have a great easy beauty return policy. If I don’t like a mascara, return it- w/ or w/ out receipt.

Eh, you’re almost halfway to a $5 beauty buck reward, at least.

(Tell me you have a CVS card. They send me 20+% off coupons every other week on top of everything else.)

It’s weird, aside from some colored mascaras I got from UD, and a clear Nyx one I used as eyebrow gel, I tend to always buy Maybelline mascara. Even when I get adventurous and buy one that isn’t XXL Extensions, it’s Maybelline. I always have luck with them.
