And Now It’s Time To Say Goodbye To TokiDoki Makeup!

I heard a rumor that Tokidoki Makeup might be gone come Fall 2012.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!

And sadly, since 99.9% of the collection is on sale at the moment that could possibly be true.

Sad little sigh.

My heart aches for you cute little Tokidoki Makeup! I hope it isn’t true.

Haul:

  • Tokidoki Eyeshadows $9
  • Tokidoki Palettes $6-$19
  • Tokidoki Makeup Bags $15-$19
  • Tokidoki Fragrance Roll Ons $10

and much, much more!

I hope this is merely a reinvention of the line! Perhaps new packaging for Fall? I’d really hate to see it gone completely. It’s such a cute little collection of makeup!

Do you love the Tokidoki Makeup Collection?

Hope to see more of it?

Hated it, never purchased it?

Do share!

This was the rumor that as going around after Christmas. My location stopped carrying it a few months ago. Hello Kitty is rumored to be on the chopping block.

  • Laci

Someone asked this on the Sephora Facebook page and the admin did say that the line was being discontinued.

I’ve never really been a fan of the line, it just looked too kid-ish for me.

  • Crystal

Never purchased the makeup. Received some as a gift. Hardly use it. Love the makeup bags though.

  • meep

i think the packaging is cute but some times the quality isnt there 🙁 but their makeup bags = <3

    • the Muse

the makeup bags are such a steal considering how much they would be from tokidoki directly.

  • Lemony Licks

I got one of the Chromatico palettes. Super glittery, has fallout, but nevertheless very cute.

The Airways Palette has been set at $19 for sometime, and it’s very tempting!

  • Lisa

I heard it a bit over a month ago for a SA that it is being discontinued 🙁 I loved their brushes the most, eyeshadows.. not as much, but I liked the charms that came with it.

  • Nat

When you navigate to the tokidoki section at Sephora, it does say:

“Last chance to escape into tokidoki’s criminally cute beauty universe before they say goodbye. Hurry it won’t last long, stock up now!”

And I found a post by one of the customer service reps:

“Tokidoki has been an incredible success for Sephora, exceeding expectations during our two year collaboration. Tokidoki was launched as a trend brand that was always planned for two years. The collaboration has come to an end and we couldn’t be happier with the results! The items are currently being marked down on sale for their exit.”

    🙁

      awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww saddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

I saw the sale info on Sephora’s Facebook yesterday and immediately bought the London print train case. The tokidoki splash page says something like “last chance to get them before they say goodbye” or something like that, so i dont know if theyre planning a relaunch. I’m so upset ): I don’t have too many of their products but it’s all too cute to discontinue! I loved the makeup bags especially. I have the travel bag with the beach print and it’s come in so much handy.

despite the quality and clor pay off being very here and there on this line i will so miss looking forward to what cuteness they’d come out with next =(

I bought a few of the sets, one had 3 palettes in a tin box the other was candy shop themed (I think). I liked them, and still use them from time to time, but they sold out of the mini 4 shadow palettes before I got my hands on them and I just don’t have room for the big palettes. But I might look at them since they are on sale (gifts for friends).

Love the eyeshadows, they had a lip balm that was ok, and I sampled 1 fragrance that I liked but I don’t know which one and it makes me nervous to buy fragences online.

  • Quinctia

I have a couple eyeliners of theirs that are pretty good, but I could never quite get into the line as it seemed like so much of the price was just for the packaging.

Almost no one sees my makeup that isn’t lip products, so while I like cute packaging, it’s not a must-have for me.

  • Missy

    I has a sad 🙁

Just bought some of their clearance stuff and keeping my fingers crossed that Tokidoki doesn’t go away permanently… or wind up at the Evil Empire (walmart) like Hard Candy did.

  • Sondra

This sucks if it is true. I love their stuff. I used to collect handbags and own several of them. Then when I started with makeup I collected that as well. I guess I better stock up. Thanks for the info.

  • Phyrra

I LOVE my tokidoki makeup bags. The eyeshadows were hit or miss. I LOVE the bronzer though. So awesome as blush on me.

  • Becca @ The Beauty Sample

Never tried it. Honestly, the packaging never reeled me in (actually, kind of the opposite…), but I suppose I could have always depotted. Don’t know that it’s really worth it to me, though–even on sale. Sorry Tokidoki!

  • Jess

I’m so glad it’s going. I always hated everything about it– I remember the BS explanation as to why they used the Japanese word for “sometimes,” and it just made me want to hurl. I say good riddance!

  • Cindy

As much as I absolutely love Tokidoki (Enough to get a large tattoo of it on my arm) this doesn’t surprise me. I bought a lot of the products for collectors purposes, but the overall quality of the products that I tried were pretty awful. These were nothing compared to the Smashbox collaboration they had many moons ago!

    • KristyQ

YES! Loved the smashbox/Tokidoki collab! I’m still sad to see the line leave Sephora 🙁 Too cute.

  • 18thCenturyFox

*sniff* I love TokiDoki so mh that when I was poor and desperate for a piece I bought a :::::drumroll:::: FANNYPACK!!! It was on major clearance ( can’t imagine why) and I convinced myself I could find a way I use it w/o it looking like a freakin’ fannypack. Never happened, but I am still sad to see the line go as I am a fan of the eyeliners and I would have kept collecting those adorable palettes regardless of shadow quality. I have a room full of eyeshadow- I wanted more anthropomorphic flowers!

  • Shellie

the sephora i worked at said it was exiting the store…but tokidoki might sell some trough their site? although doubtful as sephora actually manufactures it. so they would have to do a complete rehaul.

if there’s any left grab the brushes! they’re excellent quality!

  • Ruth

honestly, i just bought a sh!t-ton of stuff, i have a couple of friends who really love this line so they’ll be getting it for christmas.

  • Jeanne

Aw that’s a shame, I did enjoy the packaging and theme of this line. I did however buy a lot of their limited edition stuff full priced that shortly after went on sale (I learned after the second or third time lol). Their makeup was all right but I did love the bags!

  • Shelby

I loved the tokidoki line, especially their brushes. I went the other day and got another one of the blush brushes for half price. It’s being discontinued but maybe hopefully it will be picked up by another company.

  • Kee

I hope this isn’t true! I must stock up on the Adieu rollerball perfume then. It’s my absolute favourite. I would hate to see it go..

  • Ruthless

The Sephora in my town said it was a limited contract and the contract expired, which is why they will no longer carry it. I don’t think I have bought a single thing of tokidoki but the eyeshadows are nice. As for HK I have a big tin palette I bought on sale and the quality is surprisingly amazing-they are hit and miss.

  • Kate

I got some on sale, the only upside to this whole thing! I love the tokidoki characters and designs but TBH, their make up does not stand a chance compared to Urban Decay, or MAC…. especially when it’s priced the same! Oh wellz….

  • Heather Orsini

I love this makeup best pigments and texture! Ans so cute!!
    Why are they discontinuing?

    • Isabella Muse

It’s been discontinued for 10 years or so now. Was just a limited edition run at Sephora sadly!
