Laura Geller Fresh Brewed Beauty Review & Swatches
I couldn’t resist, I purchased the Laura Geller Fresh Brewed Beauty Set.
*hangs head in shame*
It’s just too cute, it comes in a little coffee bean bag, how could I resist?
Is it worth your buck?
Take a look and find out!
This set will be premiering shortly on QVC as a Today Special Value however, you should be able to order it now if you’re a QVC Insider as that’s how I got my hands on it.
The set is $49.95 and $6.22 for shipping. It’s available for a one time shipment or you can order it on auto delivery which includes new seasonal shades in the upcoming months ahead of the colors in the kit.
You get:
- Baked Highlighter in French Vanilla
- Baked imPRESSions Blush in Mauve Mocha Latte (terracotta pink)
- Baked imPRESSions Eye Palette in Creamy Latte (light brown), Warm Mocha (medium brown), and Dark Roast (dark brown)
- Balance-n-Brighten Foundation (choice of shades)
- Color Drenched Lip Gloss in Cafe au Lait (creamy caramel with coffee aroma and flavor)
- Double Applicator Brush
Even after adding shipping in this is an excellent value as all the items are full size.
Laura went with something a little different here as she typically favors traditional baked domed products and the blush and eye palette are actually flat powder compacts.
I really like the overall look this creates and don’t regret the purchase at all however, I think both the shadow trio and blush were a little dry. I’m surprised since I get fairly good pigment from Laura Geller products but in this case the shadow formula was a little weak with a drier, harder texture that proves difficult to pick up with a brush which resulted in sheer pigmentation. I also felt the shades were hard to contrast with since all three are very close in color. The blush suffered a drier texture as well but had better pigmentation than the trio. I gotta admit I had hopes these products would smell like coffee, that would be rather wicked right?
Also included is a Baked Highlighter which is fairly easy to use. Considering I’m a fool with highlighting I was quite delighted how easy it was to work with this. The cool French Vanilla shade doesn’t have sparkle, shimmer but just a lovely pearlish glow.
Color Drenched Lip Gloss in Cafe au Lait (it has a creamy toffee taste) seems difficult to pull off at first since it’s a nude peachy tan but after application of the other product it does come across quite nicely on lips. This is a full coverage, glossy lip color. It’s quite lightweight with a nice wear time.
And finally you get Balance-n-Brighten Foundation in your choice of shades. I absolutely love this product since it does indeed brighten face up, eases dullness, and provides smooth, weightless coverage that enhances the look of skin and gives it a flawless finish.
Highlighter and Balance-n-Brighten in Medium
Overall, I think the Laura Geller Fresh Brewed Beauty Collection is a fabulous little set but not without a few flaws. I think the kit doesn’t showcase Laura’s great makeup particularly if this is your first Laura Geller purchase. Both the trio and blush had mediocre, uneventful formulas that surprised me as I expect so much better from Laura than this. But facts is facts, the set does create a nice, natural nude look for pennies.
Hopefully the upcoming colors in this set prove nicer.
I liked it well enough but can’t rightfully recommend it due to the formula inconsistencies.
If you tried it, I’d love to hear about it.
