Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Brush Review
Maybelline has launched a Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Brush ($2.99) with their new limited edition shades of their Fall 2012 Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadows.
Since the brush is in an LE display I think it’s a safe assumption to say it might be limited edition as well. Although I do think they should reconsider and make it permanent.
I used it a few times and didn’t like it but its slowly grown on me. At this point, I ended up purchasing a back up since I liked the original so much and for three bucks it’s a deal and a half.
Take a look!
At a glance this looks like a brush you can write off. It’s tiny with a flat head and short bristles. Really, I wrote it off simply because it looked like a smallish concealer brush.
I did end up purchasing it because I wanted to review it and I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did.
At first I felt like it was too small…but if you’re anything like me you might feel like the Color Tattoos tend to sheer out if you apply with fingers. You want to build up the color for the best intensity but when blending out with fingers it begins to sheer out and fade.
I started using a Tarte Cream Eyeshadow Brush I had to apply and this works great. However, I decided to test the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Brush in its place.
As I said, it felt a little too small to get the job down. At first I felt like it wasn’t doing a good job but after a while I noticed I started reaching for it every time I applied Color Tattoos.
The smaller bristles are actually a blessing in disguise as they fit snugly against the lid and allow you to easily build color up. I like to apply with the brush, blend a little bit with my fingers, and continue to build up with the brush. It produces vibrant, intense color pay off and actually makes the entire Color Tattoo Eyeshadow application a little more easier. The shadows seem to have a better finish and look when I use the brush.
Although I wasn’t impressed at first I must say this is a great little tool for use with these shadows. Do pick one or two up if you happen upon the display as I have a feeling they are LE.
Definitely worth owning!
A great aid for getting Color Tattoos to look their best.
