Hard Candy Shadow Dancers Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Ok, I am in love with the new Hard Candy Shadow Dancers Liquid to Powder Eyeshadow! These dual ended liquid shadows come with two shades and are a mere five bucks each.
I MUST have them all! These launched recently with the Hard Candy Spring 2013 Collection but unfortunately they haven’t hit my local Wally world so I have to wait a bit until I get my hands on all the shades.
For now I’ll review one I have for ya!
Take a peek!
These are a dual sided plastic chubby tube which house two shades of liquid shadow. Each shade has a sponge applicator for application and applies like an absolute dream. Hard Candy says the wear is a solid twelve hours without creasing or fading. Can’t say I got that long a wear from ’em but they wore fairly decent for me.
The shade I tried is entitled Gold Digger and contains a light golden brown on one side and a light gold on the other. The shades compliment each other nicely but I only wore the brown for my look below. The texture is a creamy liquid eyeshadow which applies VERY easily! These are as fool proof as the Flower Creme Shadow I recently reviewed for you. They have a soft texture that glides onto lids like butter and leaves behind a sheer layer of color. They aren’t terribly pigmented but they have enough color to make a statement.
The formula is a joy to use even for those who have had difficulties with cream eyeshadow. They just apply very easily and blend out to a smooth finish. Color is never patchy even during the blending process. The dry down gives you plenty of time to work with the shadow so you can build, blend, and play for a few seconds prior to the shadow setting.
I wore from 7ish AM until around 2:30 PM before seeing some minor fading. Shadow remained crease-free but it lost some of its intensity. BUT not enough to actually notice it unless you were looking for the problem. After five it started to fade further and creased at six. So really it had a fairly strong wear.
Oily lids…mmm I think they might prove crease-y if your lids are oily as they have that type of formula but those with drier, normal lids should find they wear very well!
Overall, these are an EXCELLENT cream shadow. I think they’ll convert even those who hate the medium. I really enjoyed them and will be purchasing other shades.
