About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I was thinking about ordering the “I Love Color” set but I’m not sure.

    • the Muse

me either as I was disappointed with the original in the buff palette a little bit.

I’ve never tried Mally before, but that nude palette is sooo tempting! Now, I just need to figure out how to justify *another” neutral palette…

I’m quasi interested in this kit, but really want to see pictures of the future palettes.

I’m also wondering if I should just bite the bullet and buy the Naked palettes instead.

    • Teasha

I think it depends what you are looking for. The naked palettes are quite similar, so I’d try one, don’t jump at both right away, the similarity is more noticeable when you depot them as I did. Anyway, I heard the Mally in the buff palettes are much less dramatic and more buff, while UD nakeds are more dramatic. I own both nakeds and find them both dramatic, aside from 2-4 shades per palette. I used my naked palettes at first, the newness infatuation, but I hardly touch them anymore. They are not nude or naked on me, they are dramatic on me. I am a college student that interns, I need something office and school appropriate, I always feel overdone in the naked palettes during the day. I do love them for going out though, holidays, partys, etc. I heard that Mallys in the buffs are much less dramatic, which is what I’m looking for. Think about you want. There are comparison videos on youtube and such, you may want to check out.

You would think she would take some creativity and make a palette that’s not so “Urban Decay”-esque. Seriously. Even the position of the brush.

get the Naked (#1)… you won’t be sorry… every time I wear it I get compliments!! it’s my go to!! and if you feel overwhelmed by the colours just youtube it… so many ideas 🙂

Muse, what did you not like about the buff pallet? Was thinking of gettting this in AD too? Help, what shall I do? Tee-hee 😀

I saw this and was like meh. I have more than enough of her liners in colors offered in the kit. If I had to pick a palette I would probably do the color one since buff 2 looks light. I have more than enough of her mascara right now waiting to be used. It’s an awesome deal but I think I’m going to pass.

Thanks, Muse for your review. I looked and must have missed it. Needless to say I’m shocked! I have UD 1 & 2, but it always nice to try something new that would wow them. I watched an video on QVC of just the pallet and was seeing that you can apply them wet to get different colors, but Im not a wet eye color person. Little OT I thought The Balm MMN would be a great nude one, but the three eye colors that had very large finger prints in them has me turned off. But the colors are great and really like the creamy feel of them . I’ll be watching to see if you go for them for swatches 🙂

    • the Muse

i am not either and actually feel like it ruins my shadows using them wet :-/ large finger prints? was it used?! I’ll def do those soon, I’m a little behind on reviews/swatches 🙂

  • BLee

Im not sure if it was used BUT there were ( far right side colors) with big finger prints in them. Even had my hubby check it out. Im not crazy seeing these am I??? LOL and to boot I called they sent a new one with a BIG ding in the one eye color. This is all new to me. Never had make up come or look like those pallets. The other things I got were okay. Just wanted to point that out. I thinking Matte did not want me to see him just all nude so he was tring to put on something and hit my pans with his hand & ding a few on the way. LOL Ya gotta laugh at it sometimes 😀 😀 😀

    • the Muse

LOL! hmmmm! odd! maybe just a shuffle during shipment? ordered from the balm’s site?!

  • Diana

On the fence. Disappointed that the eye brightener is only available in lighter 🙁 I love her brightener but I use deeper.

  • Teasha

I just placed an order for In the Buff 2 on AD and the high shine lip treats. Excited! I was debating between the two palettes. I have so many naked/buff palettes that I hardly needed another one, but they are mostly all I wear, so it hardly hurts to have more shades to chose from. I figure the future deliveries are the same regardless what option I chose, the future deliveries have a combination of color and naked/buff shades, so with the future deliveries I will get color anyway. Though one could say the same about ordering the color palette, that in the future you will get buff/naked shades and more color, nice purples in the 2nd delivery. There was also another major factor in my deciding on the neutral palette, the color palette did not have a single matte shade. I hear Mally finishes are much more wearable than say something from UD, but I still want a palette to have a matte brow bone shade at the very least.
