Freeman Blue Agave Hydrating Facial Paper Mask Review
Freeman Blue Agave Hydrating Facial Paper Mask ($1.99) is one several new sheet facial masks launching at drugstores this Fall (check your local drugstore it might just already be available). You know how crazed I am about Asian Sheet Masks so it’s rather delightful that a budget friendly brand like Freeman has their own version of a facial sheet mask available now as let’s face it the US market is sorely lacking in this department.
The Freeman Blue Agave Hydrating Facial Paper Mask contains soothing Blue Agave to soften drier skin as well as hydrating Hyaluronic Acid to retain that moisture.
Let’s take a look!
I’m a huge fan of some of Freeman’s offering! I probably couldn’t leave without their Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask. So of course the idea they created facial sheet masks had me hyped.
Freeman Blue Agave Hydrating Facial Paper Mask is one of a few different formulas they recently introduced to their general collection for drier skin types. Like any good facial sheet mask this is saturated with essence that contains Blue Agave as well as Hyaluronic Acid to soften skin, hydrate it, and help to retain that moisture. The masks are made from a thinner cotton fiber and have slits for your nose, lips, and mouth. The mask fit is fairly good and it adheres to my face quite nicely. I had an issue with the thinner fiber they used to create it though as it felt a bit scratchy on my face and not nearly as soft as others sheet masks I use.
You’re meant to wear the mask for five to ten minutes and after use you gently press your palms against your face to allow any excess essence/serum to absorb into your skin. These aren’t terribly saturated with serum so they aren’t as wet as Asian masks. It left my face a little sticky at first but dried down leaving my skin soft but not as hydrated as I would want, my drier skin needs as much moisture as I can provide.
The deal breaker for me was the lack of essence per a sheet and the scratchiness of the fiber they used to create the mask. I think I’m a little spoiled when it comes to sheet masks so I def expect more from sheet masks than this delivered.
On the upside I really love that Freeman has tapped the facial sheet market and I’m looking forward to seeing where they go from here with these….! I haven’t yet tried the other masks they offer so I’m looking forward to doing so and seeing if those formulas are more promising. Considering sheet masks, especially affordable ones, aren’t readily available in drugstores this is a rather exciting venture for Freeman! Hopefully they improve a little on the actual fiber they use to create the masks in the future!
