Steamcream Christmas & Halloween Tin Review

Steamcream Christmas & Halloween Tin

Halloween is over but I just got these cute Steamcream Christmas & Halloween Tins in the mail and had to share them. You might know about my GREAT love of Steamcream already but for those who never tried it before, well, you’re in for a treat.

Steamcream Christmas

Steamcream Halloween

Steamcream is equivalent to Lush’s popular Dream Cream (Steamcream, at one time, was a Lush Cosmetics company but I’m unsure if it still is) but has a lighter consistency and a creamy texture which allows you to use it as an all over body and facial moisturizer.

The novelty of Steamcream is that it comes in limited edition tins which end up making you want to collect them all. This year three Halloween printed tins were launched and there is a host of Christmas ones available as well to celebrate the upcoming Holiday season! So if you’re looking for the perfect stocking stuffer for beauty and skincare junkies surprise them with something they may never have tried before, Steamcream!

Steamcream is a multipurpose cream so you can use it on your legs, rough elbows and knees and yes, even your face! It’s strong enough to sooth and soften rough skin and still gentle enough to use all over your face a swell. As Winter approaches it has always been a favorite product of mine for using on the drier, flakier, patchy areas on my face. It keeps my skin soft, smooth, supple, and extra super hydrated!

The unique formula is created using pure steam which allows the moisturizer to absorb easily into your skin without being greasy or oily. I’ve never had come across such a creamy moisturizer that absorbs so easily. It literally just melts into your skin. It has a slightly cool feel with a gel-like creamy texture and a unique lavender, herbal scent that’s very soothing but I’ve heard in the past from readers they find it a bit too strong so beware if you’re sensitive (it smells exactly like Lush Dream Cream).

Andrew Gerrie (CEO for Lush) was the original creator and man behind the Steam Cream idea. He wanted to create one cream that uses high quality ingredients that was effective and is fairly priced. When the brand originally launched the idea of Steam Cream was born in the US but the cute tins you see it housed in were design in Japan!

To create the cream hot bubbling steam is used to fuse the ingredients together at a speed that defies most many other cream making methods. This method gives the process the light, weight glossiness and allows it to break down easily onto skin and nourishes it more effectively.

Although recommended for all skin types I wouldn’t use it on your face if you’re oily as it is a heavier cream however, all over your body is fine! The cream is mineral oil free for those concerned with the ingredient.

Steamcream launched in Japan back in 2007 (about a year later I tried it for the first time!) and later on in 2008 it found it’s rightful home in the UK. Today you can easily find it right here in the U S of A in smaller shops and online, of course!

Needless to say my original review with Steamcream back in 2009 was one of the first that hit the Internet as the product was new and virtually unknown! Nowadays Steamcream is fairly common but perhaps you don’t know about it! And in that case you’ll have a lovely new treat to try out and just in time for the colder weather when your skin is likely more drier.

It was Muse Approved many years ago and still remains so! An excellent moisturizer all around!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Sounds odd but less stuff to carry and less stuff that occupy place the better. So a cream like this sounds excellent. I love Halloween design so a tin like these would be lovely.

I want so badly! I’ve always wanted to try these out but I never wanted to order them online. Duane Reade carries them here in the city but they’re never the pretty limited edition packages! Don’t they know that we’re easily advertised to?!
