Lorac POREfection Foundation Review & Swatches
Lorac POREfection Foundation ($36) is a new oil, paraben, and fragrance free foundation with an SPF 20 available in ten shades that launched with the Lorac Spring 2014 Collection.
Although not marketed as such the Lorac POREfection Foundation formula is one of those new hybrid serum foundations that has a hydrating, runny consistency that absorbs super easily into skin.
It contains Vitamins A & E, Olive Leaf Extract, Lemon Fruit Extract and Papaya Fruit Extract and promises a poreless finish with medium to full coverage that’s suitable for all skin types.

Lorac POREfection Foundation is a super creamy yet running consistency foundation that’s very easy to work with. I happen to be a finger girl for foundation application and this is one the greatest formulas around for peeps like me. On the other hand for those who love using brushes like the MAC 187 to stipple foundation onto skin this is also an ideal formula for that.
The consistency is runny yet creamy with a serum-like texture that absorbs easily into skin. The texture is misleading because you’d think something this watery might be subtle and lacking pigment but a little goes a very long way as it is quite pigmented. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it full coverage but it is medium and has plenty of pigment to conceal major and minor problems. The formula quite reminds me of Make Up For Ever HD Cover Foundation. The dry down has a dewy, soft finish that doesn’t cling to my drier, patchier areas. The soft, smooth finish is perfect and very second-skin like. My drier skin does indeed love this type of hydrating foundation. On the sad side typically formulas like this are quickly sucked up by my dry skin so the wear time is shorter for me at around four hours before my makeup shows signs of fading.
The nice thing about coverage is the fact it is so buildable while still remaining very natural. You can build and build and build and the finish never looks cakey or too made up.
PR5
I’m unsure about the poreless finish as I don’t have visible pores on my face. I do love the bright finish this provides so my duller skin looks fresh and healthy again.
Overall, if you’re looking for a medium coverage foundation with a serum-like formula that’s mighty friendly on drier skin Lorac POREfection Foundation brings something lovely to the table. Be sure to set it well though as on drier skin it does have a bit of a shorter wear time. And no worries, oily skin users will likely be very comfortable using this as well since it sets easily with a good powder and will likely wear stronger for such a skin type.
It’s available now at Ulta, Ulta.com, Kohls, HSN.com, and www.loraccosmetics.com.
