Frugal Gourmeting with the Lush Brightside Bubble Bar

Lush Bright Side Bubble Bar

I have friends who are horrified that I burn tarts or use $5-$8 bubble bars or bombs! Seriously, my friend Jamie can’t walk into Lush with without proclaiming how expensive the bombs and bubble bars are and wincing about how you’re only using them for one bath and how that bath is costing me anywhere between $5 to $10.

She also does the same thing when we go to Yankee Candle and tells me I’m burning money each time I melt a tart.

Oh woe.

I love her but I guess I don’t have the same mentality about beauty that she does as I consider the $8 bucks I spend on a Lush bath relaxing, comforting, and just a wonderful indulgence and money well spent. I work hard I deserve a little R&R under a mound of delicious scented moisturizing bubbles don’t I?

Well for friends like Jamie might I introduce you to the Lush Brightside Bubble Bar?

The Lush Brightside Bubble Bar is actually back for Easter so stock up while you can. It contains bright and sunny citrus notes that makes it smell like a big old juicy orange. It’s a beautiful selection of soft Sicilian mandarin mixed with tangerine and bergamot oils! If the sun was to shoot off fragrance rays I imagine it would smell just like this!

It’s a super moisturizing bathing experience that creates mounds of lovely bubbles. Simply break it up under running water, swish it around, and sink into a little slice of the sun! I surely wish they would do a perfume that’s scented like this.

Now for the frugal gourmet bather out there you might feel as guilty and naughty as Jamie spending $11 on this bubble bar GASP! I admit I’ve sunk an entire Brightside into my bath tub and didn’t blink an eye about it. I imagine there’s a special place in hell for people like me. But the nice part about Brightside is it’s perfect for frugal gourmet bathers as you can slice and dice it into four equal pieces which means you can enjoy it across four different baths. Simply slice it up, pop the slices in a reusable baggie, and you’re good for several baths out of this monster sized bubble bar!

But if you’re a cheeky monkey you might want to just toss the entire thing in your tub. I’m not judging…go on be a rebel!

Grab Lush Brightside Bubble bar for a limited time in stores or online at lush.com.

Are you a rebel bather?

Or a frugal gourmet one?

I have this, it’s smells nice. I used a quarter of it the first time. I may use a half next time because I didn’t have enough bubbles with a quarter. The lady at Lush talked me into buying this and some other Easter stuff for my kids for their baskets. They never made it in there. Shame on me. LOL!

    • Isabella Muse

I think half is good on this one…quarter is ok if you’re really wanting to budget it but half will give you a ton of bubbles. HAHA you bad mom! 😀

I’m a total Lushie! Haha. I see nothing wrong with pampering ourselves, plus their high quality ingredients are worth the money. Also, chemical free so that’s even better! :))

I did use tarts for awhile- off topic sorry, but then I decided I really liked the smaller votives from yankee- more satisfying to see them disappear. I would use a $10 off of $25 coupon and use it during their $1 sale- and get 25 different scents for $15- and I just love that.

    • Isabella Muse

the votives aren’t as strong for me so that’s why I still buy tarts 🙂 they have sales often for $1 tarts (this past weekend they were $1)!

For me baths are almost as good as prescription meds at making me feel better, so I do buy a lot. I try to use most of them a half at a time, but not always. I also like to keep a couple that will make me sleepy or pain less, or that i can use when I’m itchy, and also a lot that are just pretty smelling.

    • Isabella Muse

same here! when I have a migraine I skip the aspirin and take a bath! instantly feel better 😀

I like a nice, long, hot bath, but I could never really get into bubbles. My sister got me a really cool bath pillow that suctions on to the tub, and sometimes I’ll slap on a mask and use some bath oil, but that’s about as far as I go. 🙂

I do love me some Villainess sugar scrubs, though. I’ve actually not ordered from there in aaaaages, because I keep digging out more soaps and scrubs from under my bathroom sink. Guess I stocked up TOO much. XD

    • Isabella Muse

LOL story of my life! I had to do Spring cleaning the other day because my scrub collection was absurd ;-D

*tackle hugs you* CJ!!!!!!!!!!!! where you been!? I wanna lick your face right now 😀 I miss you! what are you doing? <3!

      • Cj

I’ve been good, very busy, how have you been my dear?? I see there’s a new box I gotta click 😛 having trouble with spammers eh? Want me to tase em for u?!

        • Isabella Muse

YES! 😀 knock ’em out! It was getting a little obscene. I run Askimet which catches all the spam but the problem is they were leaving so much it could have potentially crippled my server so the little box will help out 😀 I’m wonderful! Missing you! How are you? I miss you around here. I’ve been swamped as hell because you might have commented and I didn’t notice that’s how bad I am with comments lately!

          • Cj

Aww I missed you too! I might of commented a couple time idk, my mind is crazy lately lol I need a vacation.

          • Isabella Muse

ditto! have a spring break coming in two weeks can’t wait! I need down time in a major way! My head is everywhere lately!

  • Brooke

It depends what mood I’m in – one minute I will buy up all the Lush my heart desires, however, the next time I’ll think “noooooo, I need to save money”. I know I spend way too much on beauty products, but it’s my money, I work for it, I should spend it how I want to. Some of my friends go to Starbucks everyday, some go clothes and/or shoe shopping nearly everyday, etc…it’s the same thing. People in glass houses, you know! I say spend your money on what makes you happy!

  • Miss D

Sometimes, just sometimes, I want to be a cheeky monkey…but I think I can’t help but be a, ahem, cheapy monkey! LOL
This bubble bar sounds great for people like me! 🙂

  • Annie

I am a huge proponent of spending money on bath products, especially ones that smell as good as Mr. Brightside! When I purchased it last weekend at Lush, the girl who checked me out said that Lush was making it permanent! 😀

    • Isabella Muse

it actually was perm for a while Annie! 😀 glad to hear they are bringing it back again! I agree! I don’t mind spending $$ on great bath products! they go a long way to relaxing me 😀

  • Dannie

I love Lush!! I picked up some for my daughter’s Easter basket so we could share it. 😉 My husband can’t believe the cost of the items at Lush but he’s stolen a few of my Lush products so I don’t think he minds anymore how much I spend.
On a side note, I quit using the Yankee Candle Tarts because the fragrance only lasted a day. I use the Pink Zebra Sprinkles which can last up to 3-4 days, plus you can mix the scents and create a custom fragrance that is uniquely yours. And it’s a lot cheaper. =)

    • Isabella Muse

aw cute hubby likes Lush 😀 I had to look those up! never heard of them! thanks! 😀 Have you tried Bathing Garden tarts?! they are absurdly gorgeous! cheaper than yankee candle and also scented strongly!

  • kristen

I love lush so much I got a job at one lol and just wanted to tell you the brightside is sticking around for the year! I’m so excited because it smells so good and if you use some of it with the butterball bathbomb its like bathing in a dreamsicle 🙂
