E.L.F. Disney Ariel Crystal Brush Gift Set Review
I love the Little Mermaid so I did purchase the E.L.F. Disney Ariel Crystal Brush Gift Set ($10) as soon as it popped up on drugstore.com. I couldn’t resist.
It’s actually really a childish set but being a bit of a kid myself I didn’t mind.
Take a look!
E.L.F. recently teamed up with Disney yet again to create a beauty and makeup collection inspired by Ariel, the Little Mermaid. The E.L.F. Disney Ariel Collection consists of both makeup pieces like an eyeshadow and blush palette as well as an accessory collection like this Crystal Brush Gift Set. E.L.F. has done two past Villains Collections but this is the first time they ventured into the Disney Princess realms.
E.L.F. Disney Ariel Crystal Brush Gift Set is cute but impractical for actually doing makeup! It’s really a collector’s piece or perhaps something a younger girl would like. This comes with a flip top button close makeup brush holder as well as five mini size brushes with plastic “crystal” handles. I think the art work is beautiful on both the brush holder and the box as it features a water color-like print of Ariel. The brushes are very flimsy though as the bristles aren’t soft they also tend to split and shed a bit. The bristles do smell quite badly, like some sort of chemical so I washed them immediately but they don’t do well under a washing and tend to dry dense and and don’t hold their original shape very well.
E.L.F. does some great brushes in the Studio line but these are really a good reflection of that quality. The Crystal or Gem Brushes are also available in full size on E.L.F.’s website but I’ve never tried them so can’t compare them to these mini ones.
I think the E.L.F. Disney Ariel Crystal Brush Gift Set is cute for collector’s or even for a younger girl but as functional, daily makeup brushes this isn’t a good pick!
The Disney Ariel Collection has launched recently at Walgreens and the entire collection including the E.L.F. Disney Ariel Crystal Brush Set can be purchased online at drugstore.com.
