Lush D’Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap Review
I’m not one from venturing out of shaving cream but Lush D’Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap is divine! I’m really not the girl to shave with soap or conditioner or lotion! Give me a can of foaming shaving cream and call it a day. My sister on the other hand is all about shaving lotions and using hair conditioner etc…personally I find that stuff clogs up my razor so I avoid it.
And fact…Lush D’Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap clogs up my razor too but I MIGHT be able to overlook that because I LOVE this stuff!
Granted, Lush isn’t new to the shaving soap and lotion craze as they have had a few releases here and there plus Prince is a long standing shaving lotion the brand has carried since like forevers! I do like D’Fluff considerably better than Prince due to the fluffy, mousse-like texture!
Now…problem…if you have an expensive razor habit well, D’Fluff is going to piss you off. There’s no delicate way to put it. I find it clogs up my razor in the worst way possible and you need to spend a little time rinsing it all off. I suggest dedicating a single razor hair for use with D’Fluff if you have plans to use your regular foaming shaving cream as well! Hot water, a lot of whisking, drying, more hot water, more whisking around in a basin of water, and I still had a good deal of the product embedded into the blades of my razor so be prepared for this to happen.
Outside of this issue, D’Fluff is GLORIOUS! I like to use it on dry skin but of course, it can be easily used wet as well. Used wet it does lather up so no one will blame you if you double up and use it as a body wash as well as a shave lotion. The texture starts house like a whipped up mousse but it melts down a bit once it touches skin. I find I get the closet shave when using it on dry skin versus wet. It really does an excellent job of providing moisture to drier skin and a smoother working area to run your blade across. No prickly skin here! Just a super smooth shave!
Not don’t get too excited as although D’Fluff is PACKED with strawberries, yes real ones, it also contains other ingredients such as rosehip and coconut oil as well as egg whites and cocoa butter the fragrance isn’t quite a fruity, strawberry scent. No synthetic plastic strawberries here! This has more of a fresh “Lushie” strawberry smell so you’re getting not only a strawberry back note but a slight sourness as well. Sour probably sounds terribly unappealing but I promise it works! Plus if you love Lush scents in general you should have an issue with the way this smells!
Needless to say I need a larger pot of Lush D’Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap! My under arms have never had this close a shave! If you want a close shave with a smooth, hydrating finish I’d recommend D’Fluff to get the job done.
Loves it!
