Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Illuminating Argan Oil Review
Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Illuminating Argan Oil is one of two new drugstore Argan Oils that Physicians Formula is launching for Spring 2015. I recently purchased both the Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Illuminating Argan Oil and the regular Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra Nourishing Argan Oil (which I loved) at Harmons (you can also check Christmas Tree Stores and Bed, Bath, and Beyond).
I actually didn’t really love Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra Nourishing Argan Oil but those who are Spring breakin’ it soon you might just want to tote this one with you!
Take a look!
Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Illuminating Argan Oil ($11.95) comes housed in a cute glass genie bottle with a long dropper for application. It’s formulated for use on face, body, hair, nails, anywhere that needs a bit of moisture.
I expressed my delight with the original formula earlier last week when I reviewed it but I’m not quite loving the illuminating version. This is just as hydrating as the original formula and even more moisturizing than Josie Maran’s formula. It’s thicker, slicker, and doesn’t absorb as easily but leaves skin very, very hydrated. I use it in the PM prior to bed but find it too rich for AM use as it does make my skin a bit shiny and slick so as an overnight treatment it works best for me.

The original formula was quite great as it contained absolutely no additives and was simply 100% argan oil. The illuminating formula actually contains a few other ingredients on top of the argan oil but this wasn’t why I disliked the formula. I didn’t like the formula because it contains a good deal of chunky gold glitter. I felt like a ten year old applying this especially on my face as it leaves behind a ton of chunky glitter. Personally the glitter factor will likely be an issue for many of you plan on using it on your face as it does create a disco ball effect.
But as I mentioned above if you’re headed to some gorgeous tropical island for Spring Break you might feel like this is a perfect way to give your legs and bare arms a slick, illuminating glow. I tried it on my legs and actually thought it looked really lovely. It did make my legs quite shiny so you might wish to apply it an hour or so before heading out the door to give it time to set. The glitter doesn’t look as heavy on my legs and it just gives some them a subtle sparkle versus the scary glitter ball effect on my face.

Personally, even though my legs are dry, I likely won’t get a ton of use out of the Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Illuminating Argan Oil at the moment but in the Spring or the Summer perhaps a little on my arms and legs can add not only moisture but a pretty sparkle.
None the less I was still disappointed with this formula and thankful they created a version sans glitter! That one is a keeper, this one, well, for me, not so much!
Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Illuminating Argan Oil is available now at drugstores.
