About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. This set interest me. But not sure it’s worth the $45 price tag… I feel like it’s just an amped up expensive name brand trio to highlight/contour that I usually do with various powders, concealer sticks, and cream/stick foundation…

Will you be reviewing this set? I’ll go have my makeup done at Sephora with this to see if it’s any different then what I can achieve with whats in my beauty stash right now. If it blows my socks off or for whatever reason is just better/easier than my current routine when I want to contour then i’d def pick it up. But i’m still questioning if the end result will be any different then using other products to achieve the same end result…. HMMMMM

I’m crap at contouring so I skipped out on it lacy! but I agree seems mighty expensive for what it does! plus the pencils are kinda small for contouring, I’d expect something chubbier/chunkier! ya know?

I have been considering purchasing this with my 25 gift card which expires tomorrow, how would it apply and is it twist up or sharpen sticks do you know?

not sure haven’t seen these in person. Looks like they don’t twist up but do sharpen so I guess a regular jumbo eyes sharpener would do the trick Kathy!

I own the miniature version of the Smashbox Step-by-Step Contour Kit that came within the Smashbox Master Class III Color and Contour Palette. The ‘contour’ shade is amazing — the perfect medium-to-dark brown with cool undertones. On the otherhand, most of the time I am scared to use the ‘bronze’ and the ‘highlight’ shades from the palette because they are extremely warm and I’ve only used them a handful of times(I end up using pale matte cool-toned eyeshadows to highlight my face instead whenever I use the palette). I’ve never done contouring with a stick but I’d like to try…..I think the biggest faux pas here with this new Step-by-Step Contour Stick Trio is they should have maybe included a ‘blush’ stick instead of a ‘bronze’ stick……

Weird side note.. I keep seeing people saying their cards expire by the 12.. i don’t get it.. Mine says it’s good til the 15th?

i bought it and absolutely love it. Drug store brand makeup I don’t mind but some cheap stuff doesn’t end up looking as good or going on as nice so I figure if I’m going to put something on my face I’m gonna make sure it’s a good quality makeup . At sephora you get what you pay for. 90% of the time for sure anyway

Does anyone know how to get hold of these in the uk? I’ve tried the smashbox UK website but they aren’t out on there yet. I’ve tried the smashbox.com website but they only ship to US and Canada and i’ve also tried Sephora and they also don’t ship to the UK 🙁 Any help would be hugely appreciated 🙂
