Lumene Bright Now Blur Line and Pore Minimizer

Lumene Bright Now Blur Line & Pore Minimizer ($19.99) is a new oil-free facial primer launching permanently for Spring 2015 at drugstores.

If you read my blog you likely know I dislike silicone primers and unfortunately Lumene Bright Now Blur Line & Pore Minimizer is silicone based. However, there are sometimes exceptions for me for example, L’Oreal Miracle Blur is a product I really enjoy. Which actually brings me to another topic, Lumene Bright Now Blur Line & Pore Minimizer actually is kinda of a dupe for Miracle Blur.

Let’s check it out!

Lumene Bright Now Blur Line & Pore Minimizer

Lumene Bright Now Blur Line & Pore Minimizer is $19.99 and weights in at 1 oz while Miracle Blur is around $19.99-$24.99 at 1.18 oz in size. It deserves to be mentioned that Miracle Blur seems to have had it’s price lowered because everywhere I look it’s at the $20 mark and you do get a little bit more than what Lumene gives you at the same price.

All in all the formulas are very similar on both!

I don’t have finer lines or wrinkles on my face nor do I have larger visible pores. However, I do have smaller visible pores on my nose and I do like the smooth surface that a primer like this can provide and since I’m not averse to Miracle Blur’s texture and formula I decided to give Lumene’s a try.

This is quite a thick silicone primer and it looks like a paste when you first squeeze it out. It applies easily on my face but it does swatch poorly as it pills on the back of my wrist. However, I could care less about that because application was perfect, no pilling issues, and it applies smoothly and flawlessly. It’s the type of product that creates a really smooth, flawless finish on your skin for makeup. It’ll make your foundation look nicer, it’ll make your color cosmetics look smooth and more even, it’s a primer that just makes things look more flawless and photoshopped. It does a great job with the smaller pores on my nose, they disappear after I apply this! So of course, it’ll do great with larger pores on your face or finer lines. I don’t think you need large pores or fine lines and wrinkles to use this though. It’s just the type of product that works well to give skin a smooth surface for makeup to adhere which translates to your makeup which ends up looking airbrushed and nicer.

Unlike Miracle Blur they don’t recommend this after makeup but before makeup which is fine by me as I didn’t like using Miracle Blur on top of my makeup anyway. It extends makeup wear very well by two to three hours more than the normal wear. It is mattifying but my skin is drier right now so I can’t speak for how long it’ll keep oil and shine at bay.

Unfortunately, it has a very bright citrus scent. I like the fragrance a lot but if you’re sensitive you’ll likely be disturbed by it or it might even break you out.

If you like and use silicone based facial primers I see Lumene Bright Now Blur Line & Pore Minimizer being a win. One thing I did notice about this formula is as the day progressed it didn’t make me oily or shiny. Occasionally I had issues with Miracle Blur’s formula making me oily from time to time. If you’re look for a primer to extend makeup wear and give you a beautifully photoshopped look I’d say this is a nice formula to try!

Lumene Bright Now Blur Line & Pore Minimizer will be launching at drugstores shortly and is available now at Ulta.com.

I’m staying far away from this one. My face hates fragrance and thick silicone primers.

I LOVE silicone primers. However this one is a bit too thick and pills. It feels nice at first. It also grabs foundation creating patchy areas. Unfortunately this one is going back to the store.

sorry to hear. I had issues with it pilling during a swatch but on my face was good!

I like it. I only tried a tester for a few days, but I didn’t have problems with it peeling off my face. I got the whole package now, I hope my impressions will stay the same. 🙂

sure, yes, I replied to that in my comment above. CVS is a drugstore, you can purchase there. My original reply: “there’s a link in the post pointing to where it can be purchased Gina. first line as a link! Ulta, CVS, etc…”
