Revlon Pink Amethyst Ultra HD Lip Lacquer Review & Swatches

Revlon Pink Amethyst Ultra HD Lip Lacquer or HD Pink Amethyst (I seriously don’t know if they have this named Pink Amethyst or HD Pink Amethyst! The label is a little confusing) is a new, permanent shade of Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer that launched with the Revlon Floating in Love Spring 2016 Collection.

I’m not a huge fan of Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer due to the applicator but if you are you might be excited that they do have two new shades they are adding to their permanent range from this collection.

Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer are already available in 12 permanent shades and launched in 2014. After Revlon Pink Amethyst Ultra HD Lip Lacquer and Revlon Sandstorm Ultra HD Lip Lacquer is added to the collection you’ll have 14 shades to choose from.

I really love the packacing on these. They come in a long square barrel with a little surprise diamond decorating the top. It’s quite glam and pretty for displaying! The glosses sport a short brush for application which I loved initially as this is great for piling color on but quickly realized that this brush isn’t all that great but more on that in a bit.

I think this formula is quite nice. It’s a hybrid liquid lipstick slash lipgloss in my opinion. It has the thickness and pigmentation of a lipstick where as the high shine is that of a gloss. The formula does have a fairly gooey formula that’s quite thick and slightly tacky with a high shine finish. I’m not sure what the HD references but I could only assume they mean a smooth, seamless, flawless finish which the applicator actually fails at. I find the lip brush makes a sloppy mess of these and I felt the need to to use some sort of clear gloss on top for a smoother appearance. The wear is long but during that wear color likes to migrate so a transparent or colored lip liner would be helpful keeping color from traveling.

I always felt this formula is fairly nice especially in the pigmentation department but a sponge applicator might be better for application. The lip brush just applies the gloss a little too sloppy for me.

Pink Amethyst Ultra HD Lip Lacquer is a bright blue based pink shade which yields full color coverage on a single layer!

Revlon Pink Amethyst Ultra HD Lip Lacquer is a nice addition to your Spring wardrobe of you like bright pops of pink like MAC Candy Yum Yum. It’s a highly pigmented shade that wears well for several hours.
