Buxom Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick Are Hard To Love But They Grow On You!
Buxom Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick ($22) is one of those lipstick formulas that grows on you given time and patience. When I first tried it I was disappointed! I really love gel lipstick formulas and this was a bit dense and a bit draggy on application!
Not at all like gel lipsticks I had tried in the past.
But given time, Buxom Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick actually turn into a love!
Buxom Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick is available in an array of 30 shade selections. These shades were all available on the initial release so one thing you have to give Buxom credit for is bringing the variety.
Each lipstick comes in a wide circle barrel tube with a magnetic closure. I actually dislike the packaging slightly. It’s chic and different but it isn’t a lipstick you can toss in your purse in and go as with a bit of running around the city you chance the top wriggling off in your purse. I feel like the magnetic isn’t quite strong enough to hold the top on. So, don’t toss and go! Do, toss them in your makeup bag securely!
Buxom markets these as a one-stroke lipsticks with matte and satin finishes that have a lightweight gel formula that’s creamy. I tried three out of the thirty shades and as I mentioned above at first I was a bit disappointed.
This formula starts out life with a rather dense consistency which drags on application. It isn’t a forgivable formula if you have drier lips but I promise it’ll grow on you. I found that with the initial two applications that the texture wasn’t creamy enough, fell into my natural lip lines, dragged, and tugged a good deal during application.
I noticed after using it a few times that things looked up. This has a harder outer shell with a rather moist, creamy center. You just have to work a little to get to that moist, creamy center! Believe me it is worth the work! Once you break through that denser, harder shell you’ll find the formula has much, much more give. The original density is still here but once it hits the heat of your lips it becomes creamier and the glide is a lot more easier and buttery. It also has a smoother more even finish with a hint of sheen on the satiny shades. I prefer the satins as they seem to have a nicer look on my lips with a bit of shine. All the shades O tried on a whole have excellent pigmentation and due in fact, provide color on a single pass with a wear of around five hours each without feathering or migrating. I find the formula lightly hydrating on the satins but drier on the single matte I tried (Wicked Pink).
This isn’t your typical gel lipsticks and proves hard to love at first but it truly does grow on you given time! I really liked how juicy the satins look on my lips! I wouldn’t even technically call these satins as they have a more balmy, creamier consistency versus the softness of a satin. And I’m fine with that as the color looks very juicy on my lips. For sensitive users, they do have a subtle vanilla fragrance and flavor.
Buxom Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick have a formula you need to be a little patient with but believe, it’s well worth waiting things out as I really loved how these looked on my lips!
