Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Surreal Light Palette

With anticipation! The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Surreal Light Palette ($80) is coming soon for VIB Rouge Members at Sephora.com and I can barely wait! Hourglass Cosmetics is gifting us with this limited edition palette for the Holiday 2016 collection and is jammed packed with powder, bronzer, and blushes.

I have admit I was never really impressed with the Ambient Lighting Blushes but I do love Ambient Lighting Powder which makes me want this rather badly.

The compact is gorgeous! I wouldn’t call it festive but the pure white marble packaging is different for Hourglass and perhaps it is less of a magnet for finger prints!

Is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Surreal Light Palette making you shiver?

Let’s take a further look!

Includes:

  • Ambient Lighting Powder in Surreal Light (sheer nude) (0.14 oz)
  • Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Surreal Bronze Light (neutral tan with Surreal Light) (0.04 oz)
  • Ambient Lighting Blush in Surreal Glow (pale peony pink with Surreal Light) (0.04 oz)
  • Surreal Effect (cool, pink rose with soft, warm peach) (0.04 oz)
  • Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder in Surreal Strobe Light (glimmering peach) (0.04 oz)

The palette does embrace the contouring trend everyone is loving at the moment as there’s darker bronzer shades here to define and contour as well as highlighting shades and blush to complete the look.

Do you need it?

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Surreal Light Palette will be available shortly at Sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. I don’t think I can resist buying this!!! It’s so NOT a good value, but I’m just really feeling it this time. I’m going to stash some Sephora gift card money to soften the blow. Any chance they will have the 20% VIB sale at the same time this is for sale?? I can hope.

All of your posts today have made me shiver, and with the holiday products yet to be revealed this may not be a good thing! This is gorgeous. But I’m going to hold out for now.

Think twice on this one ladies! I fell for the hype on the ambient lighting edit last year for $80 and it was one of my biggest regret purchases. I just did not find this worth the value and the shades were not as beautiful on my skin tone (pretty pale). The bronzer was very orange/self tanner looking on me and the strobing powder was just not as good as ones I consider great (Becca and Anastasia).

      Nicole-

I totally agree, I think people get really excited and buy it because of the hype and literally because of FOMO- that it could sell out and they will have missed their chance to purchase while it was in stock. I have read tons of reviews about this holiday Hourglass palette, and everyone either LOVES it, or is extremely disappointed. Some complained over the size of each pod. And that this would be suited best for light/fair skin tones.

I was lucky enough to see this palette in person and swatch it. Frankly, the outside marble inspired palette case is pretty, but it did not live up to the hype I heard about online. And when I did a swatch of each color, I was expecting to be wowed, but honestly, I wasn’t. They are beautiful colors, but I feel these can be easily dupped or found else where as you mentioned, especially the bronzer, nude ones. The blushes were my favorite part of the palette, but did I love them enough to spend $80? Nope, I am still tinkering with the idea of purchasing it since I love my other Hourglass palette, but at this point I find myself saying PASS.

It’s pretty but not good value…I actually calculated, per ounce value compared to single pans…I’m bummed! 🙁
P.S still waiting on swatches though…

Hey, you have the sizes of the pans wrong in the post. I have the palette and correct sizes are:

    – Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Surreal Bronze Light (light-medium golden bronze) (0.04 oz/1.4g)
    – Ambient Lighting Blush in Surreal Glow (medium-dark golden bronze) (0.04 oz/1.4g)
    – Ambient Lighting Blush in Surreal Effect (rose pink golden bronze) (0.04 oz/1.4g)
    – Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder in Surreal Strobe Light (medium-warm bronze) (0.04 oz/1.4g)
