How Much Damage Did You Do On Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

black-friday-cyber-monday

So, how much damage did you do on Black Friday (and Cyber Monday for that matter!)? Did you tally up all your orders yet? Did you get gifts to give or to you get gifts for yourself?

I was semi-good…..

I did an order with Forever 21 this morning, also picked up the new Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette from Sephora, got two Kat Von D Brightening Powders, I also got some stuff from Think Geek for myself, two orders with Colourpop because hey, 20% off, I got myself some new Uggs as I couldn’t resist 30% off, I also did a Fortune Cookie Soap, did a Benefit order today, and picked up a few bits from the Stila Warehouse Sale. Oh not to mention the Matte Chocolate Chip and White Chocolate Chip Palettes! I’m sure there is more but I can’t think of it all right now. These deals are giving me a headache! I can’t believe I’m saying this but I feel a little shopped out!

I think I did the most damage with gifts though! I really hauled hard in the gift department. Some of the deals going on were insanely good!

How about you?

How much damage did you do during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales? Hell, the day is still young so, plenty of time to still haul right?

We have an entire month to get through so, I’m sure there will be a ton more good sales coming our way.

Ugh!

Bye bye money!

makeup wise, i’m pretty proud of myself! I got the too faced white chocolate chip palette, a doll 10 pack of 5 lippie crayons that was a one day price on qvc (doll 10 lippies are my weakness) and 3 things from wander beauty with 30% off today. I got some hair products, but still not as much as i could have and then i spent a bit too much on lilly pulitzer since i’ve been obsessed. i am super duper proud of myself i did not get 1 graphic tee from those awesome mash up sites (tee public, tee turtle, etc) because i usually get a bunch of those too. oh and i forgot i broke my no fragrance buy again bc pinrose did 30% off their site so i got the gift set with samples of all their stuff and a gift card to redeem for a full size bottle. -_-

I am too! I mean I hauled but didn’t haul like I normally would so I was kind of patting myself on the back! oh shoot didn’t see pinrose! but I already got the rollerball set and I’m not a huge huge fan of their stuff (doesn’t linger long on me) so, I don’t feel too bad for missing out 🙂

haha isn’t that the truth! I DID! I ordered it haha! I tried one before, forgot the name, and it didn’t really work but I’m kind of hopeful that HSN primer one will be better! I’ll let ya know what I think! I’m wearing Paris Hilton Dazzle today, no shame, no regrets haha! Get that one! I think you’d like it. Syrupy sweet!

I got that Doll 10 set of chubbies, too. I’m addicted to her lip rouge — I love the staying power. I wish she’d bring out some peachier and brown-pink shades, too — most of them are the pinker and mauvier pinks.

Not brown-brown — a brownish-toned pink, like the old Gelato in the Bare Minerals 100% Natural lipstick line. That was my go-to for the longest time. I’m on my last one.

But I’d like to see Doris inject some variety into the line — they’re mostly mauves and cool pinks. I’d like some warmer tones for a change.

I planned to shop at two indie nail polish companies (Pahlish and Cupcake Polish), but then I saw how good the deals at FCS were and I was out of PJP lotion and perfume and then I spent $50 there I really shouldn’t have. Whoops.

I got a few things at Ulta the day before Thanksgiving and some clips from my favorite hair accessory site, Lilla Rose. I sent some hints to my husband to order me a set from Bliss Kiss, nail stuff. And I ordered some Holiday leggings and some Elegant collection items from LuLaRoe. That’s enough.

I was good!! I actually returned the ABH Master Palette by Mario because I just didn’t like the formula. I grabbed some La Femme blushes & Morphe brushes from Camera Ready Cosmetics, and 2 products by The Body Shop at Ulta. I was really tempted by the amazing ABH sale, but I haven’t pulled out her eyeshadow singles that I already own in a while. My big splurge was my first DSLR camera (a Nikon!!). I’ve been waiting since last year and got an amazing deal on Amazon the weekend before Thanksgiving.

I only purchased things on Black Friday online that I really needed and no frivolous impulse purchases. I got Cole Haan boots that were 50% off from their website. I got a few other clothing items for 50% off. I stocked up on some skincare item staples, but no makeup. I am at the point where I am not even looking at store emails and deleting them all. It all seems too much. Just say no!

I did pretty good! Only thing I got on Black Friday for myself was the Philosophy cleanser. I ot the Becca blush palette as a gift since it was $17. Last night I was able to grab the Chocolate Chip palettes from Sephora when they released them early. Got 2 for stocking stuffers and 3 for gifts… and one for myself. I’m still tossing around the matte Chocolate Chip palette when it comes back to TF website on 12/14…

I swore I wouldn’t buy anything this weekend, but some of the deals were way too good to pass up. Makeup wise, I got a Birchbox Limited Edition (good as gold) box for 20% off. That’s $160 worth for about $35 and the box has some great products in it, including Davines and Juice Beauty.
I got the Bite lipstick set from Sephora for $25…not on sale, but adding that bag of minis made it worth it. I ordered it on Saturday and it arrived today. Like, whoa.
I also used my $10 Nordstrom certificate for a Charlotte Tillbury Eyes to Mesmerize in Marie Antoinette.
Misc: took advantage of the Anthro 30% and Jcrew 40% off to get some beautiful gifts for family. Bought the Popsugar 6 months for $100 off, and finally…today indulged in two jackets by Kit & Ace (one was 70% off, the other 60% off!).
Ugh…not gonna add up the damage. Haha.

I would like to say the damage I did at Anthro would need a notebook lol! I forgot to mention that but yeah, totally scored some deals there! Got a gorgeous coat for a great price at the 30% off! As much as I love Anthro, I hate paying full price for their clothes as most times the material sucks and it isn’t really worth the $$ you’re spending on it BUT at 30% off that’s do-able! I also scored some beauty bits too like the mini Tocca fragrances and a few other items 🙂 Good haul Sara! Enjoy it 🙂 and I agree some deals were just go go to pass up on!

Oh I love that Anthro has diversified its beauty offerings! I live in Portland and we have one of those mega Anthro stores with a huge beauty section, lots of cool new brands. And I also only buy clothes and accessories when they have a sale (which is all the time at my local store). Quality is so-so, but I still wear some things I bought there almost ten years ago because the style is so timeless. Glad you scored there, too. 🙂

Pretty “good” damage! Got some treats for myself and some stocking stuffer gifts. Including the Too Faced Mystery Box, which the system glitched and placed my order twice. I tried calling this morning before work but the hold was too long and then I forgot later. I will try tomorrow but their site says once order is processed they can’t cancel it. SOOOO if anyone wants a mystery box and didn’t get one I’ll sell my extra at cost plus shipping.

    NorthFace Jackets $62 & $54
    Gap/Old Navy $99

All from the comfort of my T-shirt and undies thanks to the internet and that to me is priceless. I kick myself for the toothbrush because had I waited 2 more days I could have gotten it for $26 cheaper on cyber Monday from Target. Not much makeup (just Doll 10’s set of five lip chubbies on QVC, which was one of their special Black Friday Weekend deals), but I grabbed a new HP laptop from QVC, to replace my 5-year-old HP (since I don’t feel like lugging last year’s Dell from the living room to the bedroom and back again). An Amazon Fire HD tablet to allow us to stream Amazon Prime shows (Apple won’t allow us to do so on our iPads), and several TV show DVD sets from Amazon (last season’s shows for $9.99 each — Lucifer, Supergirl, NCIS, Blindspot and The Blacklist). A Halo charger with an AC outlet (we live in hurricane country and need something to run our nebulizer if we lose power), and a set of cute flashlights.

Oh, wait — I also ordered loose tea from Upton Tea (samples of ten different new-to-me black teas, and a larger package of my favorite oolong), and I did serious damage at the Bird Paradise website on Friday for our five parrots — 50% off on bird toys, 30% off on food (and it’s killing me that their favorite pelleted mixes have been discontinued by the manufacturer) and 25% off on everything else.

If you think the website is something (get on their e-mail list — they send out notifications of their sales every week), you should visit the store! When we lived in NJ, we drove down about once a month (it’s on Rt 130 in Burlington, about an hour from where we lived in Bayonne). There’s nothing like it here — they have bird marts all over Florida, but no stores that come anywhere close to BP.

Each year in October, they have a three day event called Parrot-Palooza. They have speakers (I met Dr Irene Pepperberg several times — she was there the year Alex passed away, and her talks were like a wake for him — it was very cathartic for her, and for her fans), everything is 20% off (except birds and cages), door prizes, and raffles (in the weeks preceding the event and during the event, they give out tickets with your purchases) — and free food! They have a barbecue set up, and they bring in food from Carabba’s.

No, Alex was Dr Pepperberg’s African Grey – he was an amazing creature, and the reason I have an African Grey. He passed away from a stroke at age 30 in 2007.

You’re north of NYC, right? You’re not that far from Parrots and Company, in Stamford. That’s where our Sun Conure and African Grey came from. It’s much smaller than Bird Paradise (which is well worth the day trip just to go ogle everything they have, and to play with the parrots), but it’s a lovely store and they sell quality parrots from local breeders.

The Bird Paradise box arrived about an hour ago — I was lucky I got it into the house! Now comes the unpacking, which I do while my African Grey kibbitzes. “Whazzat? Whatcha got? Ooh! Is that good? Is that yum? Yum! Want some!” (Yum is her word for Nutriberries — and I got three tubs at a great price.)
