About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I love orange eye shadow on my lid and a soft black in the crease, Try it you will like it 😀
    I like the pallet!

Just as I predicted–an “amped-up” version of the original Mi Vida Loca palette from 2012… I skipped that one, as it was *too* “pastel”, but I did get the MVL Remix & Metal Matte palettes, so I’m going to wait until I see this in-store…

I just wish that instead of rehashing old palettes (although it’s great for the “Janey-come-lately’s), get a solid core range going, or at least keep some palettes around for a year, or so. If half the effort was put into the blush duos, they still might be on the market…

Also, am I the only one irritated by the fact the brand has gone so “mainstream”…?

I used my Metal Matte this morning and feel like they took 8 shades from that to make this, which would explain why it’s not pastel at all. I had been hyped for this, but now it’s looking like an easy skip.

I am pretty disappointed, but, it is because I played it up in my own mind. From the name, I thought it was going to be a set of pastel colors and then a set of the dark versions for the goth intention. Like a pretty pastel purple and then a darker purple etc. or something like that. This is a pass for me and that is not a bad thing, lol.

The colors are pretty though and I really love some of the colors a lot. Enjoy for those that buy it.

I’m honestly disappointed and relieved. I missed out on the Metal Matte palette and when I saw this, I figured I would jump on it since I’m missing pastels in my collection and I’d love that for spring. I think the only one close to pastel in the palette is the orange and that’s not enough for me to buy this. Ugh, I really wanted this too 🙁
