About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I really like the Buxom eye shadow singles and palettes and bought this last week without hesitation. It looks much lighter in person but I haven’t yet worn them on my eyes. If they perform like all the other palettes I have (both pre-made and ones I put together), I’ll be pleased.

I asked on Buxom’s FB page and they said it’s a Sephora exclusive, which is a bummer since we have no Sephora so I can’t see it in person. But I am loving the photo; those are my colors. Are you going to get it, Muse?

      • Isabella Muse

Mmm prob not! I’m not much of a pink purple mauve kinda girl Susan!

Hummm, now I’m not sure if I want this or the new 14.0 that just came out…..

I saw this at Sephora and I liked the darker colors over the lighter ones. Gilt Trip (the 3rd from the top shade) & High Society (the top shade) look like they would work the best with my coloring. I swatched and wished that the colors were available as singles. I guess it takes a while for that to occur, right? Did you buy it and try it?

I have green eyes and this is speaking to me! I’ve wanted the Dollys Wild Side palette but have never picked it up… I think I might get this one though… I’ve only tried one of the Buxom shadows – I have a sample size of Mink Magnet and it’s a beautiful formula…. Ugh, decisions!

I know this is silly but the name is bugging me. When I see White Russian, I think creamy whites and tans and luscious browns. It may not be named after the splendid milk, coffee liquor, and vodka concoction but this is where my head goes every time. Shades of plum?? I think The Dude would agree with me here.

The White Russian Palette is really pretty. It is has a peachy vibe.

I picked this up with an order I was placing with Sephora last week. It’s a nice palette but is more pink and plummy than the picture indicates. The shimmers are low key and more satiny than shimmer, which I like, and the mattes are nice and creamy in texture.

I also bought the new 14.0, I like this one better.

Leery of the shimmer. Something in mink magnet stung like crazy. Haven’t done the ingredient list/cosdna yet. Ready did not give me any issues. Might be Benzyl salicylate. That’s in a lot, and is kind of a sunscreen, kind of a fragrance modifying ingredient. Got the 14.0; wore it today. unlike ms. Muse, I am a Taupe/plum/greige person, def in the past 2 years. Think it’s bec those colors are age friendly. Not to mention cooler.

It’s not that, but aluminum powder has a safety rating of 4-9, and is listed under buxom eyeshadow and dolly’s wild side. Didn’t get that palette, bec. Of the problem with mink magnet 100 pointer from big S.

I have this in my Sephora Loves List and it says OUT OF STOCK and there is no “email me when available” link. And a search yields zero results. I just saw it a week ago at a JC Penney Sephora. Wonder what’s up. I swatched it and decided that I wanted it. Should have snapped it up then.

I believe it popped back into stock today Amy! Check the site 🙂
