Sephora Both Eyes Shut Contoured Sleep Mask Won’t Smudge Your Eye Makeup While You Sleep!?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I’m still so very much in love with my Sephora Cat Nap Sleep Mask thank you very much! But there’s always something new right around the corner like the Sephora Both Eyes Shut Contoured Sleep Mask. Granted it isn’t as cute as the cat sleep mask but it apparently won’t smudge your makeup while you sleep.

Wait, what?

My mom told me never to sleep in my makeup!

Apparently they created this mask to not only block out light but also, made it lightweight so it won’t put pressure on your eyes nor compress your lashes as you sleep. And for whatever reason they also said it won’t smudge your eye makeup. “This contoured sleep mask keeps your eyes shielded from the light without smudging your eye makeup…..”

Now y u sleeping in your eye makeup ANYWAY?

And murder she wrote.

I have no idea what they mean by all that. Personally, micellar waters were created for days you’re too damn lazy to remove your makeup. But please, don’t sleep in it, even if your sleep mask recommends doing it, just don’t.

Sephora Both Eyes Shut Contoured Sleep Mask is available now for blocking out light, protecting eye lashes, and keep eyes happy but not for sleeping in makeup because I said so.

K, thanks.

Buy it at Sephora.com.

I take my makeup off at night and don’t use an eye mask at home, but maybe this would be good for a plane??

Since this is called a “cat nap” (i.e. “a short, light sleep; a doze”) mask, I assume it’s meant for short naps during the day time, not for use at night (not that you couldn’t use it at bedtime too!). I think it’s perfectly reasonable to take short naps in makeup. No one wants to have to reapply a full face more than once a day!

When I first saw this I thought it would be great for daytime naps, and you’re right about the name, I didn’t even think of that! I agree that this is probably what it’s intended for.

I have one of theses and I like it because I don’t have to worry about my eye cream if it hasn’t totally absorbed

oh interesting because I sometimes let my eye cream sink in all by itself! 😀

I’d say for a plane, or maybe even if you have lash extensions you don’t want to smush?

This looks exactly like the sleep masks that I pick up at TJ Maxx whenever I can find them. They’re Bucky Ultralight masks. I get them for $4.99 each, but I’m guessing that Sephora will charge considerably more for the cute pattern, lol. They’re great, though, and I love them because they don’t put pressure on my eyes. Of course, I can never find them whenever I’m shopping specifically for them, so whenever I do find them in-stock at TJ Maxx, I always pick up several so that I always have a few extras stashed away at home and one always packed in an overnight bag.

I have one that’s really similar to this one. Be careful trying to wash it. I washed mine very gently by hand, and the edges of the inner lining have become detached. Also, these tend to be too hot to wear at night if you live in a warm climate.

These masks have a semi-rigid shape that curves outwards from your eyes, which is a design feature I like a lot. It’s much less hot/smothering than other masks. I have one that I picked up while on vacation and it’s great for blocking light and not smushing my eyes/lashes. I hadn’t thought it would protect my eye make up, but that’s just a bonus as far as I’m concerned.

I’ve actually been using padded eye mask for a couple of years! I buy cheap stuff from eBay since I stretch the elastics pretty quickly. They don’t put pressure on my eyeballs and it helps with my sensitive/watery eye problem. Also, because they’re padded, they block out lights better and overall just more comfortable to wear!

Shortly, padded eye masks help a lot with my Sensory Processing Disorder-induced insomnia. I still personally wouldn’t advocate sleeping with your make-up wearing one, though, that just sounds like an eye infection waiting to happen.
