I picked up one of the new Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush Powder Blush ($26) because of the packaging. Sorry, not sorry. I couldn’t resist! Pretty Vulgar sure did knock it out of the park with their packaging.

If you haven’t heard of Pretty Vulgar Cosmetics that’s because it’s brand new and just recently launched at Sephora.com. At this point I’m not sure if they have plans to expand to other stores or if it’ll be exclusively available at Sephora. They also have a website if you choose to shop directly from them which makes me believe that at some point they plan to launch in other stores.

Let’s take a look at my review and swatches below.

Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush comes housed in a gold compact which looks like a vintage picture frame that you’d find at an estate sale somewhere. The compact holds 0.2 oz blush and is $26. The brand offers the blush in eight different shades and I picked up one which is called Mirror Mirror. I actually got Mirror Mirror, fell in love with, and reminded myself how many shades I have like it. None the less, it’s still gorgeous! This is a golden pink that’s like NARS Orgasm but it seems more intense and has more of a high sheen finish in comparison.

The formula is marketed as having a silky smooth texture but I thought it had more of a powdery texture. No worries, powdery doesn’t translate as chalky or dry. It had a beautiful consistency that applied easily although the powdery nature of the texture does mean you have to spend a little extra time blending if you have drier cheeks as it tends to cling to drier areas. One of the nicest aspects of the blush was the gorgeous golden sheen. I was quite happy with the pigmentation as it was quite intense and quite vibrant but beware if you have a heavier hand like me as a little goes a long way. The wear was equally good as I got about eight hours of vibrant color before seeing some signs of fading.

All in all, Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush seems promising! I’m going to pick up a few more shades for sure as I was quite happy with Mirror Mirror. If you like NARS Orgasm-like shades you’ll love the intensity and beautiful golden pinky peach color this adds to cheeks.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse.
