The Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette Broke the Internet Today!

Well, wow that was chaotic! I’ve been trying to purchase the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette for the past hour but the damn thing broke the website. Even I though I thought (and many of you agreed) that it was a bit of a mismatched selection of shades it’s still a damn popular pick! I guess everyone is feeling Fall at the moment with August coming up on us rather quickly.

Head on over to www.anastasiabeverlyhills.com because the site is back up and the palette is still in stock but lord knows it’ll probably sell out fast at this rate. No worries the palette will be available at ulta.com and is now available at sephora.com shortly as well but if you’re impatient you can buy it right this very minute.

Since I typically judge makeup a little harsher from promo shots alone I’m really excited to see this in person and hopefully have my mind changed! The palette is a selection of mostly matte shades with a few metallics and even some duo chromes. It was actually created to complement the Modern Renaissance Palette which intrigued me as I’m curious how these shades will jive with the bolder more vibrant ones in that palette.

Shades include:

  • Roxy (Ultra matte muted coral)
  • Electric (Duo chrome lime-gold)
  • Fudge (Ultra-matte warm bronze)
  • New Wave (Ultra-matte citron orange)
  • Untamed (Ultra-matte tarnished green)
  • Edge (Ultra-matte gold mustard)
  • Rowdy (Ultra-matte blackened purple)
  • Axis (Ultra-matte blue-green)
  • Mercury (Ultra-matte slate grey)
  • All Star (Ultra-matte vintage wine)
  • Adorn (Metallic bronze)
  • Destiny (Ultra-matte sage green)
  • Dawn (Ultra-matte sand)
  • Cube (Duo chrome pink pearl)

Did you grab it it?

Going to wait ’til Ulta has it because I loves mah points! Recently cashed in 2000 of them for $125 of free stuff so now I’m starting over.

    • Mel

I’m doing the same! And how fabulously fun is that $125 redemption, right?! I last did it last summer when there was also a 20% off everything coupon – funnily enough actually got my Modern Renaissance as part of it – & am just over 100pts away now so I’m getting excited. Currently there’s a 5x pts promo so I’ll be there momentarily & am then going to make myself wait for the next 20% coupon to maximize my fun!!

      • kjh

Indeed, that is the way to go. Love mod ren and Aurora, my first abh ever, for points. Rave palettes with great reviews for free. What’s not to love? Plus, the delayed gratification just makes ya sigh with pleasure. Loved that post that Muse did. I’ll have to see this one in person to pull the switch.

      • Susan

Mel, we are shopping sisters! I waited ’til I had my 20% off coupon to cash in those points too, so really I got $150 worth of stuff free. The more Ulta points you save, the more they’re worth! Wish I could get this ABH palette with the current 5x points offer but I don’t think they’ll overlap.

It was so freakin’ annoying dealing with the site but I was able to get the palette. I had a few momentary thoughts of waiting for it to be available at Sephora, but getting it from ABH means no sales tax so a few bucks saved.

    • Isabella Muse

likewise. They should be prepared for the traffic and have things set up with their server accordingly. It’s dumb to disappoint people like that. Second thing that came to mind was, “WOW this this REALLY that popular?!” I didn’t think it was that big a launch to cause all that trouble!

  • blee

Ill wait 😀 I really like the one dollar , 4 shadow pallet of ABH on Sephora site. Today I got my 2nd one. I have hit pan on the 1st pallet that came out. I like the full size ones than the small ones that are in the pallets. I pick my colors to fill them . Ill be waiting to see your reviews. 🙂

    • Susan

Where on Sephora is a one dollar ABH palette??? This I gotta see.

      • Anais Bon

They’re referring to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Empty 4 Well Refillable Eye Palette

      • blee

Its an empty one that you fill with the full size singles eye shadows. You will see it under the they eyes color swatches. Oh it is OOS at the time. I hope it will be back soon. 🙂

      • Kimmwc03

I think blee is referring to the empty palettes that one can fill with single shadows of his/her choosing. I bought one from Ulta last year.

  • Lauren

I’m not feeling the colors. Edge and Electric, in particular would look horrible on me.

  • Anais Bon

Norvina announced on Twitter that it’s a permanent palette!!

  • sleepybird

No FOMO on this one for me. It would be hard to create a more unflattering group of colors for my skin tone ! Oh well, money saved!

  • Lexi

I prefer cool colors, but am not seeing the thought process behind this color selection. Gonna have to pass. I do love my Mario palette though!

  • Vivian

Let us know what you think! I’ve been drooling over this palette. It’s so unique and I can see so many fun looks I could do! Both work appropriate and fun night out!

  • Deborah

I am loving this one and all the greens! It’s reminding me a little of the Cargo Vintage Escape palette I never got my hands on.

  • Maria

I ordered it when the website crashed. I waited 4 hours for order number and confirm email. I was not sure until I saw the shades better on ABH and Norvina Instagram .

  • Lori Flippin

I pulled the trigger on this one so we’ll see how it works out. I’m anxious to actually use it with Modern Ren, since they say its to complement it.

  • Brenda

There are 4or 5 colors I like, but the palette just seems like the colors are dirty, to me I just don’t see myself wearing these colors on a daily basis. I checked out youtube, and the looks I liked were the ones where they go all out, cut crease and all, then the colors seem to me beautiful. I feel like I should buy it because ABH is one of my fav brands and I feel like I need to have it, I guess I will wait for your review.

Having seen some of the swatches – it is a very mixed bunch. The teal shade, which is my favourite colour next to taupe, perhaps should have been a shimmer. It looks very thick and unforgiving if you make a mistake.

Not sure, I don’t have an exact time just a date of August 1st.
