Bath & Body Works Whipped Body Butter Review & Swatches
I purchased some Bath & Body Works Whipped Body Butter in the new Fall 2017 fragrances. I’m not a huge Bath & Body Works Body Lotion fan as I find it a bit tacky and sticky but I ended up trying and like the Whipped Body Butter formula in stores so I hauled a few to go along with some of the fragrance mists I picked up. Because lord knows, if you don’t layer you won’t smell much of anything at all when it comes to Bath & Body Works Fragrance Mist.
Let’s take a peek!
I’m just throwing it out there these are wicked expensive at $18.50 for 6.5 oz. Granted, with coupons and sales you’ll likely never pay that exact amount but still were crossing the line into The Body Shop territory with these prices. And it doesn’t help that they downsized the Fall Fragrance Mists to 6 oz and priced them at $13.50 compared to the standard 8 oz for $14. Ouch guys! I hope this doesn’t mean we can expect more for less come the Holiday releases. I was also a little disappointed with the packaging which is adorable but has to be discarded. Yes, I’m one of the hoarders that keeps boxes and such. These come in a little slip that has a raised 3D design. It’s quite a cute presentation but unfortunately, it has to be torn to remove the jar of body butter. You can’t just slip it free and slip it back in when you’re done. You have to tear the packaging apart to get to the jar. Oh well!
Anyway, enough ranting about size and prices! Let’s get into deets on the formula.
These come in a chunky tube and a little goes a long way. They are heavily scented and have a super thick, creamy consistency. When they said whipped I thought they’d have a more mousse-like texture but they don’t. They are thicker than the body lotion and shea body cream. They do absorb super fast especially on wet skin and thankfully I experienced absolutely no stickiness or tacky feel after application. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked them. I was also very pleased with the intense moisture and hydration they provided. These left me feeling soft and smooth.
They are an excellent companion to the mist as they intensify the fragrance and allow it to last longer!
All in all, this was a great launch for Bath & Body Works. I’d love it if they were cheaper but as I said with sales you’ll never pay full price! I hope they launch these in the Holiday Collection as well! I wouldn’t mind a Twisted Peppermint Whipped Body Butter!
