Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick ($24) is a new liquid lipstick that launched earlier this July in an array of 12 shades. Bite Beauty created these with a mix of some great moisturizing ingredients such as natural monoi butter and coconut oil which means they aren’t your traditional matte soul sucklingly dry long-wear liquid lipstick formula.

I was pretty hyped to try these because I’m not a huge fan of long-wearing lipstick since they are all kinds of dry. Granted, not all formulas are like that but most are so, Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick was a welcome change from the current trend.

Here’s my review and swatches.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick comes housed in a 0.25 oz square barrel with a doe foot applicator for application that saturates well with color. This for formula does have a citrus-y scent and fragrance that I find pleasant but should be noted for sensitive users.

This formula is quite thick and creamy with a smooth even application across my drier lips that was slightly tacky but wore very comfortable with opaque coverage on a single application and a shiny finish. It doesn’t completely dry down like a traditional long-wear liquid lipstick but acts more as a thicker liquid gloss with the pigmentation of a lipstick and the wear of one as well at around six hours before fading but never feathering or migrating. The formula is hydrating and quite soothing on lips without being sticky or gooey.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick Swatches (Chutney)

This is quite a luxurious formula with an even, smooth finish and a hint of shine that wears away and goes more satiny at around hour two of wear. It’s thick but not so thick that I find it heavy on my lips. It’s a wonderful and refreshing change from all the liquid mattes that have passed by us in the past several months. The formula feels very nourishing on my lips and wears long and comfortably.

Overall, a wonderful liquid lipstick offering from Bite Beauty that’s worth exploring.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. I love this lip product ! Your review is spot on and I experienced the same exact wear as you.

I like the formula quite a bit for a liquid lipstick, and I’m happy that it’s not matte. I got this shade, too, but it’s much more of a brown shade on me than on anyone I’ve seen online. It seems to show as a much rosier color on other people.

me too and thank god no matte 😀 Are you lips very pigmented? Could be a little color changing happening because your lips are darker?

      • Lauren

Yeah, they’re fairly pigmented, so that’s probably what’s making it look different on me. It’s not an ugly color, but it’s probably not one that I’d have picked if I’d tried it on in person, instead of buying it based on how it appeared on other people. It’s got a very “’90s brownish lipstick” look on me, whereas I prefer rosy/mauve tones.

My lips are pretty pigmented, rosy shade that can look reddish when they are dry/chapped but this applies quite mauve rose on me but I can see it going a little brown if your lips are pigmented. Sorry about that as I dunno about you but I’m really don’t love brown lipsticks. That grunge look does nothing for me!

I was entirely bummed, when this bled in a neural net pattern on the back of my hand…three colors. Well, this consummate bite ho can’t do this one. Boooo. Plenty of others in the sea.

Ugh, Muse. The citrus oil. I was hope, hope, hoping they wouldn’t be like their other lipsticks. I just really taste it the whole time its on my lips, its why I needed to return the Tatcha Gold Lip Balm. You’re the first review I can think of that commented on its scent, so thanks for the heads up!!

I have the one in Eclair and it is my go to right now. Comfortable and pretty long wearing but tends to get on my teeth because it is a little sticky but not in a bad way. I would buy more if there were other colors I really liked.

I have this in Chutney and Demi Glace. I’ll stay away from the brights and deeps due to the fact that they will smear into my fine lines. Other than that, I love them!
