Etude House Pure Drop Genie Multi Oil Review
Etude House Pure Drop Genie Multi Oil ($10) is a new multi-use oil that can be used on face, hands, body, or anywhere in need of extra hydration. This stuff has made my concealing life so much nicer. I always put a tiny drop of facial oil under my eyes prior to concealer but this has a much lighter, easier to blend texture which makes my concealer apply a heck of a lot smoother.
But wait, there’s a ton of other uses for it too.
Here’s the low down.
Etude House Pure Drop Genie Multi Oil released several short weeks ago in Korea and I quickly ordered it up as typically Asian multi-use skincare become stable in my routine. They have a way of creating some really great multitasking skincare products and I’m always up for trying new ones.
This is formulated with a slew of different seed oils but interesting enough it’s a very light formula. So light in fact I felt comfortable using it under my moisturizer in the day. You see, as much as I like facial moisture and as dry as my skin is I typically avoid facial oil in the day because it can result in greasing shine and oiliness on my skin. Pure Drop Genie Multi Oil has a much lighter, thinner, runnier consistency that absorbs easily but doesn’t slack on moisture. They created it with mixing in mind so you can stir a few drops into your moisturizer, eye cream, or concealer to give them a boost of moisture. Or you can even mix it with pigment to create a dewy blush or apply it on dry lips. The possibilities are endless.
I’ve taken to using it on two areas of my face. One, down the sides of my nose and spread out to my cheeks as I tend to get dry here which results in my foundation adhering to the drier areas around this area. And secondly, most important, right under my eyes before concealer. I still apply my normal AM eye cream but when it’s time to apply my makeup I dot this on first, pat into place, let it set for a second, and apply my concealer. It creates a wonderful hydrating base for my concealer as my eyes are very dry and this eases the way for my concealer.
It’s an interesting product as the lightweight, runny formula seems like it doesn’t really have much moisture but in fact it really does give skin a good boost of hydration. It does have a slightly citrus scent that was subtle and disappeared fairly fast but deserves mentioning for sensitive users.
All in all, a great little purchase that is well worth picking up if you have drier skin.
I purchased my Etude House Pure Drop Genie Multi Oil on ebay.com.
