First Look at Urban Decay X Kristen Leanne With Plenty of Unicorn Goodness

Urban Decay X Kristen Leanne arrives for Spring 2018 this January with what appears to be two eyeshadow palettes, a highlighter palette, and lipsticks and yes, some unicorns too!

The unicorn trend continues into Spring 2018 if these images that Kristen shared on social media is anything to go by! Too Faced also has an entire unicorn collection launching this Spring. Kristen’s Collection looks like it’s as colorful assortment of shades but there also looks like a nude, neutral palette as well for those scared of a little color. I’m actually quite excited about this launch as I’m stuck to my nudes lately and could use a little color for Spring.

Urban Decay X Kristen Leanne drops this January! I’ll share further info as it becomes available!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. UD what have you done?! I hate hate hate the layout/look of the eye shadow palettes, and those are the only items I would be interested in purchasing. Unless they are significantly different in real life, I will be (gasp) passing.

And to whom are they marketing this stuff? Please UD, do NOT take a page out of TooFaced’s playbook by marketing cosmetics that look like they are for children. It’s just my opinion because I know some people like the cutesy packaging, but it is decidedly off-putting to me — especially at the very grown-up price point.

Seriously! As a mom to a tween girl, I spend quite a bit of time in Claire’s, and even the packaging on many products there look more sophisticated…

I agree!! I had to scroll back up and look what company it was a second time to be sure.

Hmmmm, idk why, but the packaging reminds me of Lime Crime. Sharpen your horn to get ready for this, Musicorn!! Somebody ought to go woodsy with plant colored, and maybe plant based/infused….there are many good plant ingredients that would be way better for eyes than the stuff in tf, etc. Saccharine? Uh, no. Think propolis (you do, since you are our Asian maven..), pinus silvestris extract, etc.

Oh no. I hate the packaging! So much extra cardboard! Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised about wasteful packaging if their shipping is anything to go by. I got my most recent order from them in an 8x11x3 size box with a bunch of bubble wrap and their purple tissue inside. My order? 2 lip liners. SMDH.

Ugh… It seems *every* brand/retailer does that. When I ordered the Lolita blush from Kat von D, it came in what amounted to a small shoebox. The same happened with ULTA when I ordered a couple of lip products… I really hate having to shop online, with this being high on the list of reasons why, but although there are several B&M stores near me (Sephora included), none stay well-stocked. I do try to do “worthwhile” hauls, but with so many LE items, it’s not always possible to wait… I really wish brands & retailers would work together to alleviate all this wasteful packaging, and time releases accordingly, with enough stock, so consumers could have time to think through their order. Sephora’s Flash Shipping contributes to this, as well; while I do have it, it’s mainly to get guaranteed 2-day shipping, and I do try to hold off ordering until I have enough to fill a box. Also, one would think a brand like KvD Beauty would be more aware of this issue…

Unless all of the more colorful shadows are matte, this is a firm pass. None of the actual shades look like anything new, and given how few color mattes UD has, I really don’t need any of it. Besides, I don’t really know who this person is, have no real desire to find out, and a personally annoyed with all of the collabs (while it’s nice for the influencers to make money, I don’t feel it’s necessary for such established brands to do it, at the expense of the consumer; maybe actually lowering prices would move more units…).
