Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Now Wild Palm Truly a Contender for Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess
Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Now Wild Palm Eau de Parfum is one of two new beach fragrances that launched for the Spring/Summer 2018 season which will be available for a limited time.
I was going to blind buy this online but I decided to head into store to sniff it since I’m a little iffy about beach-y fragrance. I’m not enamored with notes of tanning oil, coconuts, and other aquatic beach notes that everyone else seems to be. I mean, I like those notes but I just don’t like smell like those things so, sniffing this in store seemed like logical. I was lucky as I felt for sure VS wouldn’t have it in store yet but they did and after a single sniff I knew I needed a large bottle.
This arrives in a rather gorgeously presented bottle and box. The box itself is a non-descriptive green box which has a slide out secondary box with a stunning jungle print. It’s too bad the print isn’t on the outer box but none the less it is gorgeous. The bottle itself is the same jungle green as the box and has two palm charms wrapped around the top. I purchased the 3.4 oz bottle which was $68 and includes a free matching cooling lotion in the same scent. On some level I feel paying $70 or so with tax for a bottle of VS fragrance is quite high as their scents are notoriously short wearing for me. But some other side of me really enjoyed their fragrances and feels reckless enough to indulge that much. None the less, I can see myself wanting a back up of this fragrance and have hopes during the Semi-Annual Sale I can score another at a better price.
Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Now Wild Palm is truly a contender for Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess. If you love, Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche you’ll adore Wild Palm. Reviews I’ve read says it’s Bronze Goddess’s twin sister with greener notes but to me the two smell exactly the same.
According to Victoria’s Secret it contains notes of starfruit, Monoi Flowers, and Georgywood. I get warm woodsyiness combined with monoi flowers. It smells like Hawaii on a humid day. It’s a beachy, sandy scent without any aquatic notes only warm woods and white floral notes. It smells like the beach and really expensive tanning oil.
