Beauty Bits & Bobs
Tarina Tarantino continues to impress with her Sephora Collection by introducing two new eye primers. Rather delightful how updated they are keeping this collection considering Kat Von D own collection only gets seasonal revamps. Since it’s release Tarina’s line has seen updates three to four times already with a few limited edition pieces thrown in the mix of things.
Eye primer junkies may be interested in her new primers!
If you asked me what my ideal perfume scent would be, I’d probably answer and say something like gummi bears!
Yeah, I’m hardcore when it comes to sweet scents. I really love fruity, sweet candy-like blends but…….I do tend to migrate to unusual ones as well like spicy florals or interesting fruity florals. I’m a Jill of all Trades when it comes to fragrance however I definitely feel most comfortable with something sweet.
A reader wrote to me recently and said, “Muse, I know you’re keen on sweet stuff but have you tried Lush Vanillary?”
Why, yes, I have.
Vanilla is outside my norm to be honest and it’s not something I seek out in my fragrances however with Lush’s name stamped all over it, it’s instantly something I purchased as soon as it released last year.
There’s one thing you should always remember about Lush, THEY KNOW how to create good fragrance.
After blogging about my favorite fragrance from Annick Goutal, Petie Cherie, a few of you had asked if I could review a few of Annick Goutal’s fragrances. Honestly, I’d love to do this since I’m a hardcore fan but before I do I was curious if you’re a fan?
Wanna Muse it with me?
Are you a fan of Annick Goutal?
Any fond favorites?
Some of my favorites include Quel Amour!, Petie Cherie, and Eau d’Hadrien. I’ve always wanted to love Gardenia Passion and I keep one on my vanity at all times but it always goes so terribly incense-y on me.
One of the things that attracts me to the brand is the uniqueness of each blend, the strong, powerful formula that lingers all day with a simple spritz, plus how special each fragrance is and how it evokes a certain feeling or memory.
I really like unique, obscure fragrances that aren’t well known, are different, or just plain unique and Annick fits that bill perfectly. It’s truly fine French fragrance at its best.
How about you?
If not Annick Goutal what sort of unique or obscure fragrances do you enjoy?
Several weeks ago we Muse’d about how old we were when we first started using makeup.
I’m NOT that old but I have to say I feel positively ancient when I see girl’s that are around 10 years old at Sephora purchasing makeup or at the movie theater by themselves squealing when Taylor pops up on screen without a shirt (mind you I’m squealing with them but I’m of an age to appreciate that kinda body, are they?) or even with their own iPhones, seriously? Who pays that bloody bill?
No shame in my game, when I was 10 I was still playing with Barbie’s and crying for my mommy.
A recent study shows that girls within the US are hitting puberty at early ages. So all that technology, makeup, and hot celebs aren’t the only thing that make little girl’s older, it’s also their bodies that are displaying the signs of aging as well!
